Just ordered from ebay:

Abhorer - Zygotical Sabbatory Anabapt

I literally ordered this on the strength of the band photo alone.

Just ordered Sunchariot - 'Warrior of the Winds' from a seller on Discogs (EternalDeath). I've been on a bit of a nationalist black metal kick.

So i am going to try venture further into what Taake has to offer, the only album i own is "Nattestid ser porten vid" and i did enjoy it,
but felt the band as a whole might be a little over hyped, but lately i have thought i should give them another try.
So i ordered the second album and it arrived today. Playing it now on the second song and enjoying this alot more than i did the first album.
Do they albums change a lot as they went on?

You're gonna love the third track. You'll know what I'm talking about after you're done listening to it.

Ha ha i honestly did have a chuckle when i first heard it, just reminded of some cartoon style boinnggggg, i wonder what sort of instrument it is :-P
The rest of the album is so killer though, im on my third run through now and im already looking through discogs to order my next, and maybe a shirt.

EDIT: The melody at the end of track 4 (the synth part?) is so catchy, be humming it for days

It's a mouth harp, at least according to the MA reviewers who took the time to mention that bit.

If you like Bjoergvin definitely check out Doedskvad, which is really similar in sound and in my opinion slightly more awesome than the first two albums. This is probably my favorite track:

Hah I'm hoping it will be more like proto-war metal. Best case scenario I'm hoping for something along the lines of INRI pushed to it's breaking point. It makes me feel better that they're listed as black/death/thrash instead of war metal, at least. We'll see!

It's been several years since I've heard that album, so pardon me for working on distant memories, but I do seem to recall it being closer to a rawer Order From Chaos with a bit of CF/HH in the mix than Blasphemy/Revenge. It's a classic album in that style though. ;)

Oh yeah, got some goodies this week. Some nice additions to my doom collection:

- My Dying Bride - As The Flower Withers
- My Dying Bride - Trinity
- Spiritus Mortis - The God Behind The God
- Orodruin - Epicurean Mass

Some old and some new, some deathly and some traditional. It's going to be a nice slow week this one! :nods:

Arkham Witch - Demos from the Deep (CD) Limited edition reissue of the 2009 demo + bonus tracks.
Arkham Witch - Legions of the Deep (CD) Last copy apparently. Lucky me.
Cardinals Folly - Our Cult Continues! (CD) The vocals still suck and the new black metal influences do nothing for me but there's still some enjoyable doom on this album.
Il Segno del Comando - Il Volto Verde (CD) Dynamite Italian prog rock. They're improving despite some lineup changes and a long hiatus.
L'Impero delle Ombre - L'Impero delle Ombre (CD) Forgot how awesome this album is! Totally overlooked doom.
Midnight - No Mercy for Mayhem (2CD)
Ofermod - Thaumiel (LP)
Powerlord - The Awakening (CD)
Primordial - Where Greater Men Have Fallen (CD+DVD) Might as well treat myself. Album appears to be a grower. Better than instant gratification.
Rising Dust - Rising Dust (CD) This one was a gift. Really been missing this in my collection.
Sacro Sanctus - Deus Volt (CD) A more than competent mix of black, heavy and doom metal. Cool Crusader theme, too. Part myth, part historical fact.
Widek - Outside the Universe (CD) A highlight of 2014. Not normally a fan of djenty stuff but this one's an exception.

Forestcorpse, have you ever discussed what you do for a living here? I know that's a fairly personal question and you definitely don't have to answer. I just know you go hard on the purchases. I'm very jealous of your Frozen in Steel box. I'm patiently waiting on the CD version. Womp womp.

Haha, yea one can start to wonder :P
I think I have mentioned it a few times, just a normally paid job here in Norway.
It's all about how I priority the use of my money, most of it goes to music (Buying lps, tapes and cds, going to concerts)
After the usual bills of course.

The Frozen in Steel box is heavy and massive as hell!
I almost had a problem to see where I was walking from the post office out to my car with all this stuff in my hands.

Latest Yahoo Auctions harvest:

Image
ARESZ - Grating
Serpent - xGODx
Adagio - Underworld [Japanese pressing]
Adagio - Sanctus Ignís [Japanese pressing]
Rage - Welcome to the Other Side [Japanese pressing]
Orden Ogan - Soli Deo Gloria [CD-R demo]
Conception - Parallel Minds [Japanese pressing]
Conception - The Last Sunset [Japanese pressing]

Pick of the litter: even though Adagio "Underworld", Conception "Parallel Minds" and that Rage are all-time favorites, I'm gonna have to go with with that Serpent "xGODx".

This is my latest haul, picked all these up really cheap and dont know some of the artists.

Black Funeral - Az-T-Dahak (the guy behind this project is right into luciferianism and black magick)
Black Funeral - Waters of Weeping
Black Funeral - Belial Arisen
Dark Fury - Vai Victus! (recommended by someone a few a pages back, really enjoyed my first spin. Reminded me of the atmosphere i got from Burzum)

Spoiler: show
Image

Embrace of Thorns - Praying For Absolution (this is a band thats new to me, i read that its the same guitarist as Dead Congregation, so i picked this up)
Cultes Des Ghoules - Spectres Over Transylvania (one twenty minute song of raw black metal carnage, love this band)
Knell - Among Eternal Chills - (this was cheap and i liked the cover art so i grabbed it, yet to listen to this)
Slavland - Szepty Starych Debow

Spoiler: show
Image

Lord Wind - Forgotten Songs (this is my second LW album, really big fan of Rob Darken, so i must venture into this more)
Temple Nightside - Condemnation
Furze - Psych Minus Space Control (this is some bizarre shit, totally experimental. Some of the riffs seem to have been written by a madman)
Furze - UTD

Spoiler: show

Woah, that album came out of nowhere! I looked it up based on the strength of the cover art (looks slightly like something Kris Verwimp would do) and it's decent. I might buy myself a copy.

P.S., that Order from Chaos box set looks beautiful. If it weren't for buying Christmas presents, I'd splurge on one of those. I hope NWN will have some left after the holidays. Anyone know if the booklet in the regular set is different from the die hard, or is it just the extra records?

Yes, it's killer! My other personal favorite Colombian bands are Mindly Rotten, Suppuration, and Internal Suffering. And Blaze Inside might be worth a listen as well if you like Mindly Rotten's first album, it's basically the same style. I hope that helps a little.

The booklet is the same in both versions.
The die hard have some patches, flag and some more lps with rehearsal/live stuff.
I think you should be able to get the normal one at least after Crapmas.

Yesterday passed by a holiday market tent downtown and went in to check it out. There was a guy selling some records so decided to have a look. Ended up picking up:

Deep Purple - Early Purple
Roadrunner Records 100% Metal Sampler (Mercyful Fate, Battle Axe, Mad Max, Dark Heart, Samain, Spartan Warrior, Blackout, Jaguar)
Black Sabbath - Mob Rules
Black Sabbath - Born Again

Jackets were a bit beaten up but records themselves were fine. Especially happy with the Deep Purple (a bit of a rarity) and Roadrunner sampler.
