So which one did you buy? ... since that Kreator album isn't really Thrash.

Ordered this from my local music store:

Mournful Congregation - The Monad of Creation CD

Only $9.99 and I don't believe they're charging me for shipping.

Been buying a lot of downloads the past few months, since all I have to listen to my albums on are my computer, cellphone, and turntable (and metal records aren't cheap). I've gotten a lot of really good funeral doom that way recently, but I don't know if listing that here is frowned-upon.

I stated last week that they sound like a thrash version of Dark Tranquillity, but they're still listed as a thrash band, so what do you want me to call them?

Sure can one still call them "thrash band" and a rough subsumption of that last album under "thrash" isn't that strange, but as you pointed out, that you bought a thrash album, like it was something very remarkable, that specific album kinda falls short. ;-)

That's a pretty bullshitty nitpick you're making there. Who cares?

I have no idea what you are talking about, but my only intention was to throw in that Kreator are not playing thrash anymore, but a mixture of melodic death, power metal and yeah, thrash.

Looks like making a little joke isn't too common in here, sorry.

I got it, it was just a shitty and pedantic joke. Even if Kreator got into Gothenburg's melodeath scene a lot, they're still a thrash band.

You came off a tool with your response, but I do understand your complaint. Some people on here know that I usually avoid anything related to thrash, so I thought it was funny that I bought a Kreator album. In other news, I really like the album.

How can a joke be pedantic, when it's the first thing, I ever commented on this? Not a very friendly way to react on someone new to this board. If that's the way, you interpret moderating on this board, I step back from this here immediately. Bye!

Ordered CDs:

The Almighty - Soul Destruction, Powertrippin', Just Add Life *
Dio - Strange Highways
The Doors - Essential Rarities
Girlschool - Dance With the Devil *
Hellacopters - Grande Rock *
Megadeth - Cryptic Writings *
Mind Funk - Mind Funk *
Rancid - Indestructible
Slayer - Reign in Blood (old non-brickwalled Def Jam pressing)
Trouble - Trouble (1990) *

all the ones marked with a * were in a bulk lot which cost a grand total of $32.50, and also includes a bunch of double-ups which I'll be giving away to friends, and a couple of unmentionable coasters from which i'll be salvaging any unbroken jewelcase components and throwing the rest in the recycling

Well fuck me.. Strange Highways arrived, turned out to be a fucking bootleg. Just my fucking luck...

You can always get this boxed set: http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Dio/A_Decade_of_Dio%3A_1983-1993/585468

All the discs are in cardboard sleeves, but the box that holds them is pretty quality, I think.

No way man.. I looked those up on the DR database and they're brickwalled to the shithouse. Plus I already have all the other albums in that set. I'll just grab it from Discogs sometime when I'm feeling rich.

The Trouble CD was the entire reason I ordered the lot  The trash was a bunch of shit I haven't listed here like LMFAO, The Darkness, Sixx A.M. and a bunch of mallcore compilations

In my continuing discovery of "stuff I somehow missed the past few years," the new Destroyer 666, Wildfire, is on its merry way to me through the mail. I also saw that Unchain the Wolves has apparently been re-released. That's next on the list.

Brainstorm - Metus Mortis
Hypocrisy - Hypocrisy

The Brainstorm album was a complete blind buy, so we'll see how that goes.

Wooooooooow those look beautiful, forestcorpse...

I bought 10 CD's (mostly used) for $5 today and the metal ones are as follows:

Paradise Lost - Shades of God (sealed!)
Nightfell - The Living Ever Mourn (sealed)
Soulstorm - Darkness Visible

EDIT: The bargain section I rescued these from is absurdly large and, unfortunately, on the floor. I talked to one of the workers I'm acquainted with later in the day and he thanked me because, as he put it, "a lot of good stuff goes unnoticed in there". Might go back for a Nachtmystium album I saw but passed on (whoops)...

DIMMU BORGIR: Forces Of The Northern Night 2DVD+2CD (screw the haters, this rules! :p)
DARKTHRONE: The Cult Is Alive
THE PRODIGY: The Day Is My Enemy (can't believe it took me 2 years to pick this one up... :p)

Couple of recent purchases
Image

Dying Fetus - Killing on Adrenaline (reissue on displeased)
Agony Conscience - Look into Silence
Pungent Stench - Dirty Rhymes and Psychotronic Beats (nowhere near their best but was only £3.50)

Agony Conscience is truly awesome, I remember hearing them years ago and thinking I should check them out fully but never did finally got around to it and bought their album instantly. Brutal raw death/grind with weird atmospheric/harsh noise passages.

Dirty Rhymes and Psychotronic Beats is pure gold!

When The Bodies Fly is an awesome, awesome track imo. I would've bought it for that song alone.
And the cover is really hideous, can't look at it. When I bought it I thought I would turn the booklet so I wouldn't see the cover. But when I got it, it turned out that picture is EVERYWHERE in the cd. The front, the back, cd itself, front of the booklet, back of the booklet and even inside the booklet.
This release is drenched in humour. And most of the music is awesome too.

Dunno if i would go so far as pure gold, the two covers great, and the new (actual) songs are both solid. But the rest is filler, admittedly the techno remix is amusing and yes the artwork is fucking vile. But I certainly wouldn't stump up the amount it normally goes for.
