The Kill - Make 'em Suffer and Kill Them... All
Assück - Discography 1989-1998. This one came without a jewel case for some reason. I may have rushed into the order and missed an indication that this would be the case, but still struck me as odd.

That's funny because they actually specify that local orders go out with jewel cases, as opposed to international orders which don't.

I'm really curious about this compilation although I already have both albums on CD, being that the Anticapital version I have also brings some extra EP and split tracks. The thing is that there's already a comment on its Discogs page stating that this is a boot made from MP3 files?! I mean, is this official or not?

Links here for those who care:

If anyone can shed some light on this it'd be cool.

I just got my copies of Svartidauði - Flesh Cathedral and Devouring Star - Through Lung And Heart in mail, finally. I had been holding off buying these because of Daemon Worship's steep shipping costs, but for the last two weeks I've been listening to them quite a bit, so in a weak moment, I succumbed. These two albums set me back by about 60€. And I managed to break the flimsy fucking digipack of Flesh Cathedral when putting the booklet back to its place.

Are you familiar with discogs.com? Because its unbelievably addicting. If I only bought LPs in person I'd not have a third of the rad collection I've amassed. Discogs is life. Discogs is everything. (The "Wantlist" feature is really cool. You can specify the EXACT version of any given record, and then you'll get an email every time a new copy goes up for sale with the details. It's amazing.)

Hey, Jonpo!! Guess what? I took your advice and made my first discogs purchase! I'm freakin' ecstatic to finally have this in my collection:

It's been reverted back to official. It sounds like the person that changed it has no idea what they're talking about.

That is really good to hear! I ordered it without doing any research. Didn't catch until afterwards that the songs are all instrumentals, and they look so short I just assumed they don't "do" much. Hopefully it'll get some spins! They are a great band at their peak but it seems like they also put out some real crap so I've been treading lightly. Signal Fire, Asian Volcano, and Warning From Stardust all rule. I like some of their big cheesy 80s metal too as Vow Wow. I'm curious about Charge and the debut these days.

Charge is my favorite album from these guys, you should really get this one!
My favorite track here is Must say "Adieu" (great bass/guitar solos in here). I especially like the heavyness of songs like this or Heavy. Remember, this was in 1977, before pioneers like Maiden showed up on the scene and when Motörhead's recently released debut album was the heaviest and fastest stuff around. This guys could definetly keep up with them in terms of heavyness, if they'd only have had more attention back then (japanese singsang vocals at that time probably weren't very helpful either for international success...)
Their VowWow times had some great moments as well, especially the "V" album from 1987 had some catchy tunes. Check out this video, it has two awesome songs from their best period as VowWow and captures the feelings of an 80s music festival as well in the second half of the video (sadly, shitty video quality)...

I don't know enough about music file types to give you an answer there. I can listen to the tunes, so that works for me, but I did notice that the Discography was deleted from their MA page. Not sure what to make of that.

I've been reading the dicussion on the NWN Forum and it looks like a mess: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic. ... sc&start=0

I won't go into further detail, it's all there. Seems to be getting ugly so maybe MA wants to keep a neutral stance on this I guess?! It's likely to be the case. Anyway, from I what I could get the material present in that compilation that I don't have on CD are basically the demos and a few other tracks, nothing particularly impressive because the demos sound like arse to be honest, so I don't feel like I need to get this disc for three of four compilation songs.

Taken from Rob's (BAF label owner);

Just to get things straight before people start jumping the gun. I had permission to release this CD but not from Steve Heritage. Therefore I have been asked by Steve to either sell them as unofficial or to destroy what's remaining..

The CD is no longer available, so it looks like he's going with the destroy option rather than have an unofficial release on his label. Sounds like a cunt move from Steve and I'm glad I grabbed mine early.

Ordered the re-issue package of Voivod's Noise years from pledgemusic. Rrröööaaarrr, Killing Technology, and Dimension Hatröss -> all remastered, all with a bonus CD/DVD. I would order the LPs as well, but thankfully, I am poor.

Hey dude, I wanted you to know I REALLY liked X-bomber! It had a lot more keys/synths/soundscapey stuff than I expected but it was blended PERFECTLY with the rocking elements. Even a bit of speed metal in there. I'm so smitten with this band. I've been playing the shit out of Asian Volcano and Warning from Stardust lately. Asian Volcano has some of their best stuff I think. "Baby Don't Cry" is fucking PHENOMENAL.

I'll have to check out Charge! I was hoping, based on the name and time, that it would be pretty heavy/fast.

It's also gone at Discogs, so that escalated quickly... Shame to hear about it.

Edguy - Rocket Ride [Digipak]

When I saw that "Land of the Miracle" was a bonus track, I just had to have it. I only need one more studio album and one more live album to complete my Edguy collection!

The Ire cd is definitely pretty scarce, but a few copies have sprung up on discogs more recently. The other two are getting harder to find but neither cost me more than £5. I bought a copy of ACME years ago but fuck knows where that one is now.

Picked up Eden's s/t, Black Sabbath's The Eternal Idol, and Tomb Mold's Primordial Malignity.

Eden was a short lived continuation of August Redmoon that lasted just long enough under that name to release a great self-titled album (better than the better known "Fools Are Never Alone" EP under the August Redmoon name, anyways) that fills the USPM mood pretty dang well.

Sabbath doesn't really need to be described. We know who they are.

Tomb Mold are a Canadian duo that write some of the best recent death metal that I've had the pleasure of hearing; their debut came out recently on Blood Harvest Records and is totally stellar wonky stuff. Lots of weird rhythms and melodies.

Korpiklaani - Noita
Stratovarius - Eagleheart (Single, shaped cd)

Noita, altough not as good as Manala, is a fun and enjoyable journey. Stratovarius I bought it more as a collectors item than to be played since it can only be played in systems where the cd is fixed in the middle.

Haven't posted here for months.

This photo is from the past few weeks. Don't know if I posted the Testament one. That one is from at least 4 weeks ago.

Image
Carcass - Heartwork [FDR reissue]
Testament - Brotherhood Of The Snake [Mediabook]
Obituary - Obituary
Memoriam - For The Fallen

Went to a record fair yesterday and got these:

Vinyl:
Image
Flotsam & Jetsam - No Place For Disgrace
Testament - Practice What You Preach
Mandator - Initial Velocity [Already had a copy of this one. But one side was ruined. So bought this one because it was cheap and in near mint state]

Not on pic:
Meat Loaf - Dead Ringer
ZZ Top - Tres Hombres

CD's:
Image
Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell
Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell
Meat Loaf - Welcome To The Neighborhood
Megadeth - Peace Sells
Queensryche - Empire
Slayer - Seasons In The Abyss
Deadhead - Kill Division
Morbid Angel - Heretic [2CD]
Prong - Cleansing

And others from the past few months, no pics:

CD's:
Ectoplasma - Skeletal Lifeforms [came with Repulsive Echo sampler, great label]
Obituary - Ten Thousand Ways To Die [at a gig, got some autographs on it]
Testament - Dark Roots Of Thrash [CD/Blu-ray]
Overkill - Ironbound
First 2 Kate Bush albums and first Tori Amos album

Vinyl:
Memoriam - Hellfire Demo's I
Memoriam - Hellfire Demo's II
Some Kate Bush and Meat Loaf stuff

I might have missed some items.

Found these today in the used section of a local record store. All first presses and in really decent shape.

It's been... a while. My "New Crap Ultimate" playlist was growing a little slim, so I picked up the following:

Acrassicauda: Only the Dead See the End of War
Paradise Lost: Paradise Lost
Chthonic: Bu-Tik
Kreator: Gods of Violence
Frosttide: Blood Oath (MP3 only)

Curiously, when I bought the new Kreator, Amazon let me download it, and it included a second disk with a live performance from Wacken. The actual physical album did not include the second disk.
