That Bolt Thrower is killer! What is it?

Cenotaph/Spearhead comp. Surprisingly good quality for being a bootleg.

Avantasia - Angel of Babylon
Dark Tranquillity - Character
Deafheaven - Sunbather
Obscura - Retribution

I only need one more Avantasia album and I'll have all of their full-lengths!

Dark Forest - Beyond the Veil
Dream Theater - s/t
Fates Warning - FWX
Fates Warning - Darkness in a Different Light
Fates Warning - Theories of Flight
Magnum - II
Obscura - Acroasis
Rush - Permanent Waves
Rush - Moving Pictures
Rush - Power Windows
Sacred Oath - Darkness Visible
Vader - Necropolis

DVDs
Monty Python's Holy Trinity
Fleksnes fataliteter
Stig-Helmer - The Box

Sacred Oath is so much more than what I was hoping for, USPM leaning towards power/prog, sometimes reminiscent of early FW, sometimes quite thrashing, and amazing guitar leads all over. Have two more of their albums on the way.

You might want to check out their second (and final) album, too. I don't really like the first half, but the second half is fantastic.

Nice! This is slightly off-topic, but how did the Carcass fans react to Deafheaven?

Vulcan plutarchy: You fucking scored on Johnny Touch. People are snoozing on that one but it's a keeper. They're influenced by all the best stuff but don't sound like clones or x + y = z. Awesome understated guitar tone with killer fucking riffs.

I'm personally a big fan of Aelin but it can be a challenging listen. Their new album is about half as long and I'm expecting great things.

Some of the fans seemed to like them, but quite a few were poking fun of them. There were a couple of guys I overheard sitting at the bar calling them a bunch of hipsters, and quite a few people went and found seats at the back of the venue or at the bar and waited for the Carcass set.

I recently bought a few albums blindly that are for sure going to be in my top 5 albums of the year list.

Schammasch - Triangle
Ulcerate - Shrines of Paralysis
Zhrine - Unortheta

My favorite latest purchase not from this year is Litourgiya by Batushka. Fucking heavy.

Nice grab! Have not decided yet if I want to get the Zhrine album myself - need more spins to tell really.

Idk about Batushka and the hype around it. Never really hit me.
I would rather listen to the Horns of Domination Demo. Really looking forward to their album - check the band out if you don't know them.

I just ordered Wytch Hazel's album "Prelude" from eBay. I've never heard these guys and always wanted to snag the EP but never got around to it. The album cover is kind of awful but the lone review sounds right up my alley and I think I can trust the reviewer since he chose the name "Mitchfynde". Excited to check this out!

(It was dirt cheap, $6.95 with free shipping)

Ooooooohhh shiny... I really would love to own that. I feel I'm in the minority in that I thought that was their masterpiece instead of Doomsday. Both rule though.
