Over the weekend I got Follow the leader from Korn, along with Rob Zombie's Helbilly Deluxe and the Sinister Urge from iTunes.
I sadly haven't had any albums from them before then, only heaard scattered songs. My sister and I are going to a Korn/Rob Zombie concert in August, so I figured I might as well listen to more of them, so I'm not completely lost when I get there.

Really difficult to get proper informations as you have to pay 45€ to get a report from the agency. And for the first 5 years off the release it was perfectly legal, then 18+, then censored. But that agency is really random, they made CCs Evisceration plague 18+ because well noone knows. Also some Haemorrhage, Impaled Nazarene and so on. Appears to me as "hey look, we still do something, we matter".

Did you have any money left to pay your rent or buy food? :P

I do remember those carefree days when I got my first government job. It's be easy to drop AUD$400-$500 on CDs. Now I earn double that amount (as in over $95,000)and can't afford squat thanks to family and mortgage!

Oh and why are cassette tapes back?!?

I hated them when I was young - poor sound quality and they'd often get chewed up by the player. But I was poor and couldn't afford vinyl or CDs.

So why are they back? It's not like vinyl where the sound is actually better (especially for things originally recorded on analogue).

Novelty pretty much. I seriously doubt anyone actually prefers the sound quality on cassettes over anything else, they just like buying them because they might have memories of owning them in the past and want a little nostalgic indulging. Nothing wrong with that. I don't think I ever owned an actual music album on cassette before (not counting stupid little kiddie sing-along compilations), but I've considered buying some a few times just for shits and giggles and for particular albums I really liked.

Cheap to press in small runs. Cheap to buy. I mostly only buy demos on cassette. Still never had one chewed yet.

Really proud to own this thing. I've been kinda slow getting into Liege Lord. Which is weird because muscular USPM might be my absolute favorite type of heavy metal. I love the artwork on this thing and I'm proud to have the original Black Dragon press. The music is great, although you can definitely hear that they were still finding a sound and identity.

Did I mention that even the lyrics sheet is rad as fuck? Check it:

Image

Not pictured: Trance - Break Out on vinyl. Nowhere near as excellent as Power Infusion (I'm really obsessed with that album) but a solid piece of hard rockin' heavy metal. They don't take any pains to hide their Scorpoons influence and I love it.

CDs:
Billy Joel's Attila - Attila
Death Angel - Archives and Artifacts (really only bought this for The Ultra-Violence, but since I'd never heard Frolic Through the Park before, I figured I'd give it a listen before I decided to trash all the other CDs. Frolic wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting it to be, so I decided to keep it)
Electric Wizard - Electric Wizard
Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse
Excel - The Joke's on You
Shrinebuilder - Shrinebuilder
Torture Squad - Panedmonium

OPETH - Heritage

Recent thread reminded me I still needed to buy their last two.

Also need to pick up that new Manilla Road - Dreams Of Eschaton/Underground double-CD...

Yes don't worry ;) Rent and food and stuff always comes first that's why in the past i made seldomly order which were rather small. And some of the items mentioned above were scattered over the past month so "only" 20 of those records were the "celebration order" (plus one for free item).
And tapes: i like tapes as demo and EP. I wouldn't buy tapes from bands which you can easily get as CD but from small bands that only put out a small number of tapes (for example Elfsgedroch few pages back) which are also cheap i gladly take it. In short: tapes = demos/EPs or very very small underground bands.

Apparently HPB has been ramping up their stock of metal lately, every time I go the few by me the stock is overflowing. Today I got a lot:

Image

Nasum - Helvete
Bathory - Blood Fire Death
Dark Tranquillity - Where Death is Most Alive

Image

Shit ton of Judas Priest reissues :)

Dude, these prices are unreal. Blood Fire Death goes for $25 at HMV here in Canada. For $5.99, the only albums you can get would be shitty mallcore albums. All the good stuff is $10 and up.

Ehhh it all depends on what you're buying. Sure these prices were pretty good but for example they have a copy of Disma - Towards the Megalith digipak that they want almost $30 for. Or today I also saw some Nunslaughter import that they wanted $50 for. But yeah any day I can walk out with nine good condition cds for under $65 is a good day for me.

The question though is what press it is. Kraze/Maze? That's the only Bathory disc 'in print' in the states. $10 new.

No its Black Mark Productions. So that makes it, what, somewhere in the 90's?

Edit: yeah '93. I don't know if it's worth a whole lot, don't really care either.

I guess it makes sense to charge more for more unknown bands. Bathory is relatively well known in the metal scene so $10 seems fair. The prices are retarded in HMV. Like, for example, the remastered deluxe edition of Orgasmatron sells for $41. That's fucked up.

The question though is what press it is. Kraze/Maze? That's the only Bathory disc 'in print' in the states. $10 new.

That version has an ugly bright yellow logo and washed out colors in general, you can spot it a mile away.

It's only worth what you're willing to pay for it, same as anything  However it's by far the best-sounding CD issue of Blood Fire Death so you definitely lucked out.

Death Angel - The Evil Divide (Excellent!!! These guys just keep delivering)
Fallujah - Dreamless (Great musicianship but the songs didn't quite grab me like the last album)
Vipassi - Sunyata (Tech death done beautifully. No vocals makes you get right into the music)
Purgatoire - Passe Decompose (Old school American DM from Canada. Great)
Countless Skies - S/T (Insomnium and Be'lakor have a challenger)
Dethrone - Incinerate All (Some absolute Death thrash gems on there)
Hope Drone - Cloak of Ash (Similar to Deafheaven but more atmospherics. OK but not their level yet)
Cobalt - Slow Forever (FUCK YES! Sounds like tool took a dose of steroids and got angry!)
Embreach - The World we Have Left Behind (Great Finnish Melodeath band)
Blade of Horus - Monumental Massacre (Quality Brutal DM)
Opprobrium - Serpent Temptation (Better than most at it's time of release. Glad they re-released it)
Wode - S/T (Great BM from England. First song is superb)
Nucleus - Sentient (Excellent SciFi DM. Great, great album)
Inverloch - Distance/Collapsed (Fuck yeah, love it!)
In Dread Response - Heavenshore (Needs more spins)
In Dread Response - From the Oceanic Graves (A real gem. Worth getting if you like aggressive melodeath)
Gorguts - Pleiade's Dust (Pretty deep. Only got it today so needs more spins)

Two Havukruunu CDs, Havulinnaan and the 2016 Rautaa ja tulta. Nice stuff, recommended.

I have Havulinnaan. The riffing in the first song is sick!
