Picked up from this local record shop I can't believe I haven't found until now:

Saxon - Strong Arm of the Law gatefold LP
Warlock - True as Steel LP

Both G+ to VG condition, £7 (about $11) total. Going back there soon to pick up the new Merzbow/Pandi/Gustafsson collab (CD, £10) and DRI - Dirty Rotten LP (LP, £15). Was tempted by a couple of DM first presses but to be honest I'm not too bothered at this stage which press I get and they were £40 and £60 respectively.

Preordered the Drive soundtrack 2LP. Mondo is putting it out so I imagine if I don't preorder it'll sell out in fifteen minutes.

I've been a bit quiet in here, I'm doing a course and stuff
These are from last Sunday, I’ve been a bit busy… some stuff came in today too, separate post for them though
Image

Anthrax ‎– Spreading The Disease [just a repress]
Aversion ‎– Fit To Be Tied [full on thrash/crossover, I quite like the dude's voice, this is old too, US version from 1992]
Celtic Frost ‎– To Mega Therion [2004 reissue]
Explosicum ‎– Conflict [Chinese thrash metal, pretty good too]
Furze ‎– UTD [USA jewel case version, I have the Digipak version too]
Hellhammer ‎– Apocalyptic Raids 1990 A.D. [reissue from I don't know when, I have 2 different versions of this now]
Ministry ‎– The Land Of Rape And Honey [AUS version, looks pretty old]
Shackles ‎– Coup De Grace [AUS death thrash metal, not bad, this is a reissue with some live songs]
Shihad ‎– Shihad [excellent NZ hard rock/metal]
Thy Rites ‎– Thy Infernal Coronation [Brazilian black/death, quite catchy]
Trollskogen ‎– Der Weg Zur Unendlichkeit [not bad Austrian black metal, ltd edition]
Various ‎– As The Sun Burns [KillZone Records comp, death and black, Funeral Rites have some wicked drumming, the whole comp is pretty sweet]

Is that black thing a piece of carbon paper or a metal handkerchief?

Nice Uncle Acid vinyl! I also contemplated getting the Neptune Towers vinyls, but I ended up just getting them on CD. Are the vinyls any fun?

These arrived from Australia today and took 4 days to arrive! wicked, that must be a new record.
I love Discogs \m/

Image

Core ‎– The Hustle Is On [finally I own this, I've wanted it for years]
Electric Wizard ‎– We Live [wicked, love this album, artwork included... even if there are no vaginas]
Eternal Elysium ‎– Spiritualized D [EUR Digipak, wicked Japanese stoner doom Cathedral/Sabbath/St Vitus worship]
Kylesa ‎– To Walk A Middle Course [not my favourite album of theirs, it's ok, I have this LP too for some reason]

I just realised I said wicked 3 times in that post ha ha :oh shit:

Pre-ordered the Katatonia "Last Fair Deal Gone Night" triple vinyl. This thing is going to be absolutely amazing (I saw some of the performances on youtube, and damn, Don't Tell a Soul in a live version), it looks absolutely beautiful and it wasn't even that expensive for a triple vinyl with this kind of packaging. But still, one month to wait :(

Wölfhead - Wölfhead

I have no idea how this one will be... Bought it due to my reaction to the (awesome) cover art. Allegedly, the band showcases various styles on this full-length, with one of the songs being Motörhead worship [they're labeled as Stoner/Doom in the archives!].

Limbonic Art - Ad Noctum: Dynasty of Death

Again, I picked it because the cover art caught my attention. Looked up the band after purchase [name did sound familiar...] and allowed myself a small preview - now stoked that I'll hear the album in its entirety! Definitely listening to it in one sitting. It will probably be an hour well spent.

Got a whole bunch of cool stuff today going into Armageddon Shop, god I love that store so much.
Image
Medicine Man - Dark Love // Empty Heart and MMXII Tapes and Patch (It was their last show tonight, really too bad as they just released one of my favorite albums of this year and I feel like they had a lot more great music in them. Awesome melodic emo/punk)
Hypocrisy - Virus CD/DVD
Iron Maiden - Maiden Japan CD (Hoooooooooooooly shit, I've been looking for this one forever, no care that it's a bootleg since it was never really officially released as the full concert. It's basically their first two albums minus a couple songs, and in my opinion, the songs from the debut sound way better here)
Nevermore - This Godless Endeavor CD
Invasionen - Saker Som Jag Sagt Till Natten (Very melodic and atmospheric post-punk from Dennis Lyxzen of Refused, it's excellent music that I feel like hasn't been heard by enough people)
Give Up the Ghost - Love American CD
MDC - Millions of Dead Cops / More Dead Cops CD (To finally replace my cassette of it)
Loudness - Thunder in the East CD (A very recognizable album that I've managed to never listen to, hopefully I'll like it)
Achilles / Engineer Split 2CD (Another blind buy, although the Achilles album I've heard is wicked, so I've got high hopes)

@ forestcorpse: nice additions! I bought the Lichens tape together with the new Trist tape as well. Quite good release :)

Also, may I ask where you found the Carved Cross - Demo II tape? I'm still looking for it. Do you have their new Rehearsal MMXIII as well? I received it together with a FCoS tape :)

[quote="DrummingEdge133"]Record Store Day was quite expensive for me. I got several things from both Black Mess Records and Sound Garden:

Image

Hybernoid - Technology/Regression, Weird this band would show up after I had just downloaded one of their albums. A rather obscure band with a strange genre label: (old school) industrial death/doom metal. Sounded promising to me.
quote]

funny but I played bass in this band and didn't even have a copy of this, I ended up buying it off ebay, if you've seen the TV advert, this was definitely a JR Hartley moment. if your interested in hearing old Noid stuff drop me a line.

Latest album purchased was Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing by Discharge, its a peach from 1982 and I have owned it many times over before

I got the Carved Cross from a guy on Discogs!
I sent an email to IW right after I saw it was ins tock there, but I was too late...

If I'm lucky I will find it one day.

MattDoom: Epic score there, I want a lot of those tapes myself....!
Especially the CC,FCoS and Drakonhail stuff!

I'm sure MN/Winterreich would still have plenty of copies of the Carved Cross rehearsal tape (the band made 50 copies) since he's not in a rush to sell any of his stock and too busy with life to tackle his massive email backlog aside from a few people so he's got a shitload of distro stock lying around until then.

I think the first 100 copies were on green paper.

Immolation - Kingdom of Conspiracy

The record store I frequent puts their new releases out the Friday before the actual US release. Been spinning it all day and loving it. I never expect anything but quality death from these guys.

I also picked up a compilation from the now-defunct Cleveland death metal band Blood of Christ, for free. Not bad at all. Good riffing, mid paced kinda stuff. At this point I would describe it as Barnes-era Cannibal Corpse meets Cause of Death/The End Complete era Obituary. I haven't listened to it enough yet to fully confirm this assertion, though.

Oh, sweet! I've got the Demos 1991-1993 compilation they released in 2007. It's actually really cool, and I would've liked to have seen them go further. As it is, the demos they did make were nice indeed.

Excellent! Even though we have two different releases, the content is probably about the same, and I agree - I wish these guys would have taken it to the next level. Sometimes there are some exceptional artists that simply fall by the wayside, due to a variety of circumstances.
