It'd be interesting to hear Alain pulling off Viking era Bathory vox. I think a live recording defintitely needs to be made and released just for that set alone.

The idea of it certainly sounds awesome, but who knows how it will turn out.

Nemtheanaga regards re-recording any Bathory tracks as blasphemy, so this will likely just be a festival sort of thing. Sucks, since that means I'll never get to experience it and the prospect of him singing Viking-era material is  worthy.

I wonder if he regards a live recording as a re-recording though... maybe there is some flexibility there for those of us doubtful to ever see this concert. :)

Hopefully he can. His favourite album is apparently Blood Fire Death and I'd probably shit a brick if I heard him sing "A Fine Day to Die".

The re-recording thing was just what he told a friend of mine on Facebook regarding this project. I'm not sure if he was referring to live recordings or doing an entire studio album of covers, but I'd guess the latter. Hopefully there'll be an officially released live version, or at least a good bootleg. :hyper:

Though since we're on the topic of Bathory tributes, was there any videos/recordings of the Bathory tribute at Hole in the Sky 2004?

This should be awesome. Iscariah, Nick Barker, Blasphemer, and Nemtheanga? Yeah that's something worth seeing! I'm not familiar with Patrik but that shouldn't be a big deal.

One of my dreams has been to see the song Blood Fire Death played live, so let's hope they release this!

Wow, this sounds insanely awesome. It's reassuring that something like this is in the hands of a more than capable line up. Nemtheanga is the perfect vocalist for a job like this. I can't wait to see a setlist.

Man, some of those guys are exactly who I wouldn't want to see in a Bathory tribute. Nick Barker? Come the fuck on, you couldn't have found someone a little truer to the spirit of viking-era Bathory than Nick Barker? What, was the drummer of Whitesnake busy?
