I once did. I have In Rock on vinyl same with Made in Japan. Plus Who Do We Think We Are and Machine Head on CD. A couple from the re-united Mark II. Could care less about what they've done sans Blackmore.

While their new music isn't up to their 70s material quality wise, it is decent hard-rock/metal.

You must really care then, granted you have room to care less.

Sorry, I couldn't help it. I'll disappear.

That depends whether he actually does care less. Whether he could or not has nothing to do with whether he does.

Burn was a good album that still retained the Mark II sound in some songs. Stormbringer was awful.

I do, have all of the albums with Blackmore. Not really into their new stuff though.

I started tracking down all their material. I have a bunch of their stuff including both the Hush and Kentucky Woman singles from Tetra... I have Made In Japan and Who Do We Think We Are on Vinyl and Machine Head on CD. I was going to purchase their first two albums on LP but I decided against it in favor of some other releases.

Anyone got any of the remastered 25th anniversary edition CDs? I have the anniversary versions of In Rock, Machine Head and Fireball, which are definitely worth it for the extensive liner notes and great bonus tracks, most of which are alternate takes or studio jam sessions.

I have a pretty decent Deep Purple collection. Most of the albums on vinyl, CD, plenty of their singles, almost all their live and some remastered.

Most of this collection was passed down from my former so it wasn't all that hard to get. I've been able to get other stuff on thrift stores and The Internets. It is amazing what you can find at thrift stores for low prices and excellent condition.

The Machine Head reissue with the Roger Glover remixes is pretty much THE version to get. The RG version of the album is pretty much the one I listen to exclusively nowadays. It's just such a perfect mix, and the little "rough edges" at the beginnings/ends of the tracks are a nice touch, further demonstrating how on-the-fly the album was recorded.

The newer stuff with Steve Morse is incredible! "Purpendicular" and "Rapture of the Deep" are better than most of the entire catalogue!!! I also think "Abandon" is a great album!

i'm not nearly as familiar with this band as i need to be. I listened a lot to Fireball in high-school many years ago. i liked it at first, but afterward lost interest in pursuing them further, as they didn't sound hard or heavy enough. (i didn't know how much they progressed/developed their sound later). these days im familiar with Machine Head, and one or two others, but thats it.

I've got a couple and they're great! A nice treat after playing the same 6 or so tracks per album over and over for 20 years.

DP gets so little love here and it's a shame as back in the day they were about as heavy as they came. I know they sound a bit 'proggy' now but trust me, back in the late 70s this stuff was loud and obnoxious.

And yes, Ritchie Blackmore was a god. Now he's just a sad, pussywhipped old man, but back in the day the man could fucking shred. Man! :)

I only have Talisman on vinyl(origional, of course). I like a lot of Deep Purple's stuff, but I don't have them money to get their entire discography; maybe I should look into getting a tape deck.

Fans of DP should also check out Rainbow, it's a side project of Ritchie Blackmore and Dio. Makes for a good combination of awesomeness.

Wouldn't call it a side-project, really. It was his main band whenever he wasn't in Purple before Blackmore's Night came round. Great group though.
