I can't find lyrics for this album, so I am just wondering are there lyrics in the booklet?

There aren't any lyrics in the booklet, but it's not that hard to decipher them (except for Axiom Heroine where the vocals are barely audible). I may add a few lyrics soon.

Most of the lyrics are fairly easy to decipher, such as this:

All in Satan
Satan's real
All in Satan
Satan's here

Or:

Take my hand
Suck my blood
Close your eyes

:ugh: I have such a hard time enjoying that song sometimes because of those lyrics (and the others I can here aren't much better). Good album though.

It's Beherit. If you're expecting good lyrics look elsewhere, if you want awesome music you're in the right place.

Demon Advance:

Take Your Soul
All Surrender
Blood of Hatred
No one to Escape

Killing For Pleasure
Sacrifice the Holy
Shine (?) the Blade
Sword of Hate

(Missing Stanzas)

Take Your Soul
All Surrender
Blood of Hatred
No one to Escape

This is the Ritual of Blood
The wrath of blackness
Song of the demon
Illusion in darkness
???
Rain on the Last Day (???)
???
Alone without ???

(Missing Stanzas)

All in together (??? sounds kinda lame ???)
I am here
With magic to ???
???

Take your Soul
All surrender
Blood of Hatred
No one to escape

All in together (??? sounds kinda lame ???)
I am here
With magic to ???
???

As you can see, I'm working on it.

"Suck my Blood" is a really sick sounding piece. I don't really understand the claims that this album is so generic that some people seem to be throwing around. The lyrics also seem very ...Beheritish, so I don't see why anybody would complain.

The world doesn't need another Bathory rip-off/worship album, hence all the criticism. (This also applies to Immortal's new album)

As for the lyrics... well, even a 5 y.o. could come up with something less embarrassing. They look like they were randomly generated by a special PC program rather than written by a human being.

Well, the album does have a very cyberpunk computer vibe.

ThHe only song that's obvious Bathory worship is "Pagan Moon". It's probably the least interesting song on the record, I'll grant you that, but I think your claim is essentially way off. Bathory sure never made a monster like "Demons Advance", and the insane high-end tremolo riffing of "Suck My Blood" could never have come from Quorthon's undiseased and drug-free brain.

Eh, lyrics have never really been the band's strongpoint. They are simple, to the point and yes, perhaps a little immature. I think they're ideal.

Quorthon probably had a ton of STD's. Considering all of his accounts of slut worship.

Ah, he probably lied about all of them!

Pfft, listen to "Axiom Heroine". The slow part sounds like it was taken straight from "Home Of Once Brave". I could just imagine Quorthon singing "Out of the water, the cold black Nordic sky...".

Ah well, yes, they are pretty similar come to think of it; I'll have to have a listen when I get home. Still, the feeling is completely different in my opinion. That is one of Bathory's simplest songs, too, and Beherit only really use the droning riff for an intro. If Quorthon can get away with ripping off so many bands, why not Nuclear Holocausto, who at least would make no bones about it.

was Quorthon not a drug user? that man aged rapidly and died from heart failure at a fairly young age. Quorthon the crackhead.

definitely a Bathroy influenced album, but i liked this album. it's not as bad of an album as people would like you to believe.

Actually, the lyrics on DDtM (or what I can manage to make out of them) are nearly perfect. They're somewhat primitive and childish, but they're also very dark and creepy and i think the childish and somewhat simple nature of the lyrics just added to that whole dark creepy-ness. Especially the lyrics to Summerlands.

Also:

...Oh, hear the thunder
Hear the voices
Hear the noise from hell
Demons, devils, dark spirits
From church horror tales
The hordes of dead roar...

Tell me that's not brilliant.

Haha, well, actually, I am not certain, but I knew a guy who interviewed Quorthon and he said that the man went on a big rant about smoking and how it was a terrible thing and one shouldn't indulge in it, etc.

Loki, oh yes, I agree with you about the lyrics actually. I probably could have dispensed with the first sentence I wrote pertaining to the lyrics and just said that their primitiveness suited the band well.

Damn, I just love Beherit. I dont' like Von, hardly ever listen to Blasphemy, spurn the "war metal" stuff...Beherit is just a different world to me.

I quite like Engram, it sounds good. I was only talking about the lyrics that I don't like. Yes, I am aware that lyrics aren't Beherit's strong point. But I'm not going to ignore the fact that the lyrics are bad just because I already expected them to be bad.

I'm just thankful that I can't understand most of the lyrics in that album.

hahah! Don't forget to listen to the rest of "ENgram", too..that track is just an intro as far as I'm concerned.

Also, if the rest of "hammerheart" was as grand as "Home of Once Brave", I'd like the album a lot more.
