I can't believe that I can't find a recent topic on Hirax. Katon and company are one of my all time favorite thrash bands.

Their new album El Rostro de la Muerte is going to be released this month I believe. You can download 3 songs from their website.

I for one am definitly looking forward to this. The New Age of Terror was very good. Katon is just metal through and through. That guy is just awesome. It's weird that they have this big following in South America, as methinks this is why the title is in Spanish

I remember hearing somewhere that they began using spanish in their CD booklets and such because they felt it would give them the support of the spanish community.

Eh, lots of Spanish people = lots of pesos. Can't really begrudge them for it.

Yeah Hirax fucking rules. I got the oportunity to see them live about 1 month ago when they toured here in Chile. Excelent show and really cool, down to earth, metal loving guys. Katon is hilarious, he is like a metal cartoon with his crazy looks and movements, giving every one the horns, in every way possibly. Fuck yeah great show.

Having enjoyed "The New Age of Terror" a lot, I really hope that this will be a good album. I was hoping to snap it up on iTunes today, but I suppose I'll going to Amazon instead...

Seconded and thirded. I am anxiously awaiting their next album - I grabbed all of their studio output some time ago and find it amazing, vicious thrash. Hope this new one will not dissapoint.

It says Hirax are going to tour with Omen in June of 2010. Don't know where though.

I use to have Not Dead Yet, thought it was terrible. I've heard a few of their newer songs via YouTube, and they were significant improvements over the old material. Still, I'm not too interested in hearing more of their material.

In their favor, I've heard from a number of sources that they're pretty much the nicest guys in the world. That's cool I guess.

You dont like not dead yet?

Not dead yet is one of the finest examples of crossover in my eyes. I find their newer material to be more standard but still well made.

i only have the 85 and 86 albums from this band. got into them after watching "Get Thrashed" doco and seeing their name/frontman plastered all over over the thing. pretty good but i don't like them quite as much as many of the other US thrash of the same period. come to think of it - i'm about due for another listen. will whack it onto the ipod and crank it for a few days; see if my attitude changes.

Hate Fear and Power is an absolute stone cold classic. Not really too familiar with their other stuff, how does it measure up?

Hirax is very awesome. The New Age Of Terror and Assassins Of War EP are very solid releases by them.

To repeat the Hirax love fest that's going on here, I'd like to say they are one of the few old school bands who've released material recently that hasn't completely sucked buttermilk. This release also adds to that. I can't wait to get ahold of it. :)

Hey. I don't agree with your bias of buttermilk, buddy.

A lot of people don't. It makes good biscuits, but that's about it. ;)
