ok I've posted this in a few metal forums -- I've seen this shirt before but cannot find it anywhere! It is classic black&white with a viking ship on the front, in the sail it said ABSURD and on the bottom of the shirt it read "Conquering Vinland"

so if you know anything about it, let me know.

I follow their work closely but have never seen/heard of such a shirt. I am very curious about this myself.

How did Absurd play any US dates? I thought they would have been disallowed from even coming here.

Why would it be hard for them to get here? None of the current members have done anything wrong. Church arsonists and other criminals have gotten into the country (Samoth, Infernus, Gaahl etc) so why would Absurd have any problems?

If you're wondering why I mention Infernus and Gaahl, remember, they did play the 98 Milwaukee Metalfest.

I believe the current members have not been convicted of any major crimes, so theres that. And the shows they played were in New York City (GBK got them here) and the other show was in Chicago.

Just checked the wikipedia article, didn't know they were continued without the founding members. What is Hendrik doing now?

Running a distro and such. There were plans to release a good deal of old Absurd material (aside from the Exile of the Golden Age compilation) but they are currently having some legal issues, mainly being that two of their albums have been blacklisted by the German government which lead them into going on hiatus. They said they will return in time.

He was never really a contributing member of the band musically. And yea I guess Absurd these days is pretty much an in-name only incarnation of the original.

For the most part, though original members do participate from time to time. Sebastian did some vocals on some later tracks and Andreas supposedly contributed to the album "Der Fünfzehnjährige Krieg".
