Interview with Mors Dalos Ra of the German Death Metal band NECROS CHRISTOS

Image

"Music can work just for the dumb entertainment factor feeding the brainless amongst us, but in fact, it is the most spiritual medium one can think of."

"I don`t think that the Metal scene in general, and especially Death Metal, has reached its limits although the classics might have been already written, yes. My sincere belief is, that this form of audiomantic worship goes beyond the ordinary music understanding and therefore boundaries do not exist."

"My main musical inspiration is rooted in middle eastern folklore as those of Persia, India and the Arabian world."

"Right now, we`re getting material together for the next full length record, completely entitled “The 9 branched candelabrum of mystical lights, leading into Doom of the Occult”. Again it shall be a deep conceptual structure"

That "Curse Of The Necromantical Sabbath" EP is pure genius.

Great interview, concise and to the point. Not surprised that these great musicians find Black Sabbath's "Born Again" to be vital and authentic.

Glad to see I'm not the only Necros Christos fan around here!

How recent is this interview?

First, that's awesome that he's into Sabbath, Mercyful Fate, Deep Purple and Rainbow. Classics that should never be forgotten!

Second, I'm really interested in what their next full length will sound like. Sounds like the band is pretty confident in it, but I wonder how much is actually written and rehearsed? Regardless, I look forward to it.

They've been a go-to namecheck band ever since the full-length came out.

I know, real rarity to hear stuff like that, isn't it.

I'm not sure what you mean. I've never heard that term before...

I find a lot of younger people are missing out on these bands (aside from Ozzy era Sabbath).
