Faaaaaaaaaaark. Just when I was trying to scrape together the dosh for Kreator and Destruction/Destroyer 666 tickets, this gets announced:

Quote:
Amon Amarth is going to Australia again!
We can finally confirm that we will be returning down under in November.

Australian tour:

24/NOV (AU) PERTH / Capitol
26/NOV (AU) BRISBANE / Hi Fi Brisbane
27/NOV (AU) MELBOURNE / Billboard The Venue
28/NOV (AU) SYDNEY / Metro

Oh well, street whoring and kidney selling it is then.

Great, caught them last time around and they were great. I would love to hear some of the new tracks live, especially the title track from 'Twilight...'

They just bloody need to get some good support acts going this time! Surely they have at least some friends in Sweden they could bring along.

I missed them last tour so they are high on my list of priorities. Bane of Isildur are supporting in Sydney, they are pretty decent.

Looks like I'm going to have to miss this one. Not because I don't want to go but because it's 18+. I'd love to go but I'm not old enough.

I'm kinda glad this one's not coming to Adelaide, there's just too many gigs right now, but not enough cash to pay for them.

Don't ever say our city has too many metal gigs. We get nothing in comparison to Europe and America.

Maybe the Adelaide summer is too dry and hot for these norsemen.

What you get I would consider alot of gigs

we get nothing so when bands do come we occasionly get violentish

When diecide came some people caused glen benton to leave the stage lol

This is true, but it's a lot more than usual, and in such a small time frame. It seems like we've got an international gig every two weeks now. Couple that with the much more expensive price of gigs here than in Europe and America, it's quite hard to hit all of them.

Coming up in Adelaide we have:
Cannibal Corpse (~$60)
Against The Grain (~$45)
Kreator (~$50)
Slayer/Megadeth (~$90)
Arch Enemy/Suffocation (~$75)
Obituary (~$60)
Dream Theater (~$100)
Lamb Of God/Devildriver/Shadows Fall (~$75)
Edguy/Cynic (~$70)
Chimaira (~$65)
Soundwave (~$130)
Big Day Out (if it has a not crap lineup)

That's a lot for us, not to mention things like Screamfest, Amon Amarth, and other tours that aren't coming to Adelaide.

But, poor choice of words, I'm not saying it's too many gigs. There's no such thing as too many gigs. It's just one less gig I have to whinge about not being able to afford to go to.

Never been a big fan and I've always though they have been one of the most overrated metal bands ever...

That been said, I'll still be going.

Might actually check them out this time and not buy a Blood Duster DVD instead.
OBITUARY TOO!
Going to pass on Corpse though, they are meh live.
I'm pissed that organisers actually think it would be exciting if Cynic and Edguy played together though, Edguy can get fucked.

My friend said exactly that when he saw it. If anyone should play with Cynic it should be Alarum!

I didn't know that! You just cost me more money.
East Brunswick Club is actually quite a grand venue.

Shit, I had no idea Obituary were coming round. Might check that one out for sure. Besides - I wouldn't consider Chimaira, Soundwave and Against The Grain good metal shows. ;)

Nonetheless, hopefully in the next 30 months they will be back for a whole Aussie tour.

Damn straight they are. Screamfest and the 'Metal Month' sideshows has an astounding lineup. Thank God we're getting a couple of shows in Perth.

I never mentioned anything about good. ;)

Besides, Soundwave has Faith No More, Meshuggah, and Isis, and Against The Grain has Alchemist, Mournful Congregation, The Amenta, Alarum, Ne Obliviscaris, etc. What's not good about that?

Gonna see Amon Amarth along with Evile and Entombed 17/10. Now that's what I call a fucking good show!
