ollowing three very special U.S. appearances earlier this month in Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York (effectively breaking their streak of visa issues), Swedish black metal battalion MARDUK will return for a full North American headlining tour this November. The band will be joined by NACHTMYSTIUM, MANTIC RITUAL, MERRIMACK and BLACK ANVIL (on select dates).

Dubbed U.S. Plague Tour 2009, the trek will kick off on November 20 at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts and run through 21 more dates before coming to a close in New York City on December 16 at the Gramercy Theater, where the band recently played to an overwhelming crowd response.

The dates are as follows:

Nov. 20 - The Palladium - Worcester, MA (w/ BLACK ANVIL)
Nov. 21 - Les Foufounes Electriques - Montreal, QC (w/ BLACK ANVIL)
Nov. 22 - Wreck Room - Toronto, ON (w/ BLACK ANVIL)
Nov. 23 - Sonar - Baltimore, MD
Nov. 24 - The Masquerade - Atlanta, GA
Nov. 25 - Brass Mug - Tampa, FL
Nov. 28 - Red 7 - Austin, TX
Nov. 29 - Ridglea Theater - Ft Worth, TX
Nov. 30 - The Marquee - Tulsa, OK
Dec. 02 - Launchpad - Albuquerque, NM
Dec. 03 - The Sets - Tempe, AZ
Dec. 04 - The Key Club - Hollywood, CA
Dec. 05 - The Jumping Turtle - San Marcos, CA
Dec. 06 - DNA Lounge - San Francisco, CA
Dec. 07 - Satyricon - Portland, OR
Dec. 08 - Studio Seven - Seattle, WA
Dec. 10 - Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom - Denver, CO
Dec. 11 - Riot Room - Kansas City, MO
Dec. 12 - Reggie's Rock Club - Chicago, IL
Dec. 13 - Station 4 - St Paul, MN
Dec. 14 - Blondie's - Detroit, MI
Dec. 15 - Peabody's - Cleveland, OH
Dec. 16 - Gramercy Theater - New York, NY (w/ BLACK ANVIL)

MARDUK's eleventh album, "Wormwood", will be released in the U.S. on October 13 via Regain Records. The CD, which will be made available in Europe on September 24, was recorded at Endarker Studios in Norrköping, Sweden with engineer/producer Magnus Devo Andersson. The album's release will be followed by a world tour, dubbed "Funeral Nation 2009/2010", which will kick off in Europe.

hopefully they don't have the same visa issues that they had with blackened fest.
It would be terrible if our immigration services double checked or heard one of Marduk's albums and said: "NOT IN MY COUNTRY!!"

They are notorious for cancelling/not showing up for tours. So I hope they make it. Kinda like Absu.

I missed them when they played in NY and I regret it. But at least I know that they're comming soon.

Finally, not to mention there is not a band I dislike, save for new Nachtmystium, and haven't checked out Black Anvil yet, but hear nothing but good things. Was surprised by such a decent lineup in the US.

I'll be at that Atlanta date, not the hugest Marduk fan but I've heard great things about them live so I'll be looking forward to checking them out. Mantic Ritual certainly do stick out like a sore thumb but I'll be interested in seeing them again as I though they were solid support opening for Destruction.

I'll probably see them in Tampa even though to be honest I'm not particularly interested in any of the bands on the bill.

Hm, I've seen them 6 times already and there were no problems whatsoever with their appearance.

I think she means in the US specifically. We've had rotten luck getting Marduk over here. Hence the "bee-sting" gag I made earlier... they cancelled a tour a few years ago when someone had an allergic reaction to a wasp or something like that. Which resulted in a lot of "Bees Shall Sting... When We Are Gathered" jokes...

HELL YES. Im excited. Especially since theyre touring with mostly good bands.

The only band on that lineup I dont love is Mantic Ritual. Theyre a bunch of wieners who couldnt even pull off a cover of Venom's 'Black Metal' last time I saw them live.

Yup, they've cancelled what, at least two US tours?

Eh, I'll skip out on this one. Marduk never really gripped me as a "OMG MUST SEE" band, Mantic Ritual sucks (at least live, they certainly do), and Nachtmystium comes through town practically every other month. Merrimack? No idea.

There's plenty of other concerts this fall to spend my money on, and MDF '10 will be eating up quite a lot.

I want to see them sooo bad but if I remember correctly Vader/Decrepit Birth and the Amenta were coming four days before and since I don't live anywhere close to Phoenix; I can only go to see one.

Well, I just saw 'em in Baltimore, but what the hell? I'm glad to see the concert schedule filling out in this area a bit more. Keeps me busy over the next few months. Well, busier.

Though they're having that free Blink 182 concert down the road this weekend. I need to get the hell out of town.

Same here man. This will be my first black metal show ever. They're playing at the Riot Room over here which is a little bullshit place that is going to get tore the fuck up!

Hopefully they don't cancel a bunch of shows like they were awhile back.

I will be at The Riot Room as well, assuming they don't cancel. The place sucks, but they get much better bands than most places around here. The drinks are priced pretty decent too.

^I Klatus played Riot Room earlier this year, I liked that place - Marduk should be pretty fucking intense on that stage!

I saw them on the Deicide tour with the Legion/B. War/Fredrik Anderson lineup, to this day one of the best shows I've ever seen - just fucking vicious. Lot of good buzz with this new record and the current lineup, maybe they'll top themselves on this tour...

Merrimack? Holy shit. One of my favorite modern acts. It'll be worth it to see them let alone Marduk, Nachtmystium.

I saw them in Baltimore earlier this month, and will most likely see them again for this tour. They put on a damn good show and the crowd was going nuts. It was fucking intense, to say the least.

I'm excited that I'll finally get to see Nachtmystium also.
