Hmm.. Say, if you live on the one NZ island, and the concert's on the other one, how do you get there? do you have to fly?

You don't have to, the country is all attached but most people live in Auckland, the major city. Like New York is to America, just on a much smaller scale.

You also can shut up. Yes the festival lineup may look a bit funny by certain standards, but we gotta take gigs when we get them.

This is a big deal for metal in Australia.

He is an arrogant American. What is uncalled for from that? He wouldn't understand how big of a deal this is for Aussies considering they would get so many, many more bands then what we get down under.

I agree you have a point, but theres really no need for saying he's a arrogant American. Could be seen as a bit racist.

Just arrogant would have been fine.

It isn't racist in the slightest. He is an American and an arrogant one at that. What is the world coming to when naming someone by the nationality is racist? He is an American and arrogant, not an arrogant American as a collective term.

And Slayer toured with Manson and Slipknot iirc. Credibility?

Exactly.

Kerry King did a song with Sum 41 too, and was even in the video.

So did Rob Halford. Your point?

I bought my ticket within hours of going on sale. Man, when this gig ends with Raining Blood or Holy Wars I may just cry manly tears of pure joy.

Really? I bet that's a strange track.

My point was that very few 'famous' metal musicians have 'credibility' but still make (made?) awesome music.

Hope you guys got your tickets, it sold out in a matter of about a day apparently.
I'm sure that would mean an extra show but the question is, not only would Slayer agree to it but Big Dave must too.

Unless they only play 80's material like the last Iron Maiden tour i'd go, but otherwise it's not worth it for me. Lots of money to cringe through half of each bands set.

I hope Mayhem plan to tour again.

Sum 41 were a gateway band for me, and as it happens their guitarist was a massive classic metal fan. They even have a lyric that says "Maiden and Priest were the Gods that we praised". Hell, they played For Whom the Bell Tolls on that Metallica show (MTV Icon).

I just scored myself a sweet digipak copy of Hell Awaits. Show No Mercy should arrive in the mail anytime soon. I'll try to order Killing is My Business soon. They're playing Rattlehead again!

Yeah, no way it could be taken the wrong way. Just like Dirty Mexican, no one could take it the wrong way.

rumors of a US tour this year, so fuck the Rockstar Mayhem tour. i would rather save money and not sit through the shit on display and pay festival prices to see Slayer and CC only (Behemoth dropped the last date) and hopefully put the money and effort into traveling to see the Slayer/Deth dates if the tour happens for sure.

I was incredibly dissapointed when I saw Slayer last Saturday. Maybe it was because they had to play songs to appeal to a more mainstream crowd, but I doubt it. Tom Araya is waaaaay past his prime, and Jeff and Kerry's soloing got really monotonous about halfway through their set. They didn't even play anything off of Show No Mercy, which was what I was waiting for all day
