Not sure Fen has done a thrash mix already (his thrash follow up to his Old School Black Metal mix was canned apparently), but he just did one for me for Vice Magazine. Anyways, its mainly stuff from his tapetrading years plus some newer stuff - all really, really good though. Check it out here or here.

Seems to be a pretty nice mix-tape.

Morbid Saint, Vulcano, Pentagram, Morbid, Poison etc. Great stuff.

well if Fenriz says so....

Looks like a cool comp, i'll get around to it later. His black metal comp was cool just to read his silly liner notes. I still hold it against him for simply putting Blasphemy's intro and not even a real song on that record.

Looks like most of the old bands are first generation Death Metal and Death/Thrash bands and not plain thrash.

Nice tracklist, good to see some 2004 and upwards songs featured here from some really killer bands. Aura Noir mixes well alongside the rest of the late 80's shit. Awesome :metal:

Fenriz is really establishing himself as a die-hard knowledgeable metal fan. I'm beginning to feel more and more that he's just on of the guys instead of the drummer in Darkthrone at this point.

Fenriz' Old Skool 'Black Metal' compilation actually got me into thrash when it came out (Curse the Gods \m/)

So this is a fucking god-send! Thank you!

Also, would anyone happen to know if you can download the one he made for Terrorizer magazine a couple months back?

Holy shit, with only knowing of Aura Noir on the tracklist I've gotta say that was awesome.

Fenriz has done other such compilations? I must search for these.

I'd quite like to see Fenriz put together a tracklist for a straight up oldschool heavy metal compilation. He's declared much love for Motorhead and Manilla Road and so on, so it'd be quite cool to see, I think.

This would be cool, if you look at the liner notes for F.O.A.D, basically every page he is recommending a band or two, then the last two pages are all recommendations - Manilla Road and Cirith Ungol are there of course, along with English Dogs.

Check out his myspace too, the guy is just addicted to recommending obscure metal
