Just heard the song Skleton Christ on the Christ Illusion album and realized how cool the album was and I've had it for awhile. This also happend to me with the Kill album by Cannibal Corpse, I didnt realize how good it was untill way later. Has this happend to anyone before with there albums.

Legend tells there's a secret alcove, hidden within an old chamber under a castle somewhere in Transylvania... There lies the hidden record of Doom and utter darkness.

Anthrax's State of Euphoria is probably the closest for me. For damn near a year I would listen up until Antisocial before I got bored. Which is a shame because the the last five tracks all slay. Took me faaaar too long before I heard Now It's Dark, which completely changed my opinion about the album.

For me it would probably be Covenant by Morbid Angel. It was one of the first Death Metal albums I purchased so I wasn't really into it. I loved the first track, but that was it. So I didn't play it for ages until a few months ago and I realised what a quality Death Metal album it is.

Death's Individual Thought Patterns. I had barely listened to it because I was busy with Symbolic and TSOP and Human, but I gave it a chance. After listening to it for a couple of months, it's now my favourite Death album. The same goes for Spiritual Healing too, except it's my third favourite now.

Just off the top of my head, Underrated classics for me:

Anthrax - Piece of Time
Morbid Angel - Covenant
Morbid Angel - Domination
Cannibal Corpse - Gallery of Suicide
Slayer - Show No Mercy
Severe Torture - Misanthropic Carnage (Love the bass playing)
Motorhead - Another Day
Judas Priest - Point of entry

Black Hateful Metal by Veles. At first I thought it was generic trash, but then it hit me how amazing it really is.

I had Gorguts "From Wisdom To Hate" for 6 years before I began to enjoy it.

Same thing happened to me.
Same as many albums, the first 3 Kreator's, the first metallica, etc..
I usually listen to albums at moments wehen I can't pay too much attention to them, so it takes me some time t get into them.
