The tragic period by Exhorder tells the life story of Edgar Allen Poe while incorporating references to his stories and poems.

Just remembered Cromwell by Reverend Bizarre about Oliver Cromwell

Oh, another addition would be Mägo de Oz' La Cruz de Santiago. It mentions Captain Alatriste, by Arturo Pérez Reverte.

I thought it was just "inspired" on Captain Alatriste. Great books by the way :)

What about Holy Martyr? They have lots of spartan-themed songs.

A lot of Sabaton's music covers historical battles in human history. While not a lot are focused on the figures specific, they are menchioned.

That's nice. Now why don't you post something on topic? Nobody said anything about Dio anyway.

Don't know if someone's already mentioned them, but I'll throw xibalba.

most of you already know that their lyrics are about Ancient Mayan Culture. I don't know if you're looking for that kind of stuff, hope I help you with it.

MorbidCum... Where did he come from? ¿De dónde salió el cabrón? O.o

Thanks again for your answers! Sure, I have songs from Holy Martyr, one album about Rome and the other about the Spartans.

And, another user here did mention Alesteir Crowley, Ozzy's song Mr. Crowley was loosely based on him, though.

As for the band that sings about the Mayan Culture, thanks for letting me know about it! :hyper:. Another addition along with Ch'aska, Folk Metal about the Incas and Peru.

So, another playlist would be regarding ancient cultures, but hey! Don't mind this, for that playlist would not be difficult to find songs. For now, I'm interested in finding songs about historical characters.

Grave Digger has done: Legion Of The Lost and a second part about the French Foriegn Legion, a whole album (the awesome Tunes Of War) about Scotland, an album about the Arthurian legend (Excalibur) an excellent album based on Poe's works (The Grave Digger), an album about theb Wagnerian legends, and a good song (Massada) about the Jews on the mountain.
Priest's Heroes End is about pop culture stars (James Dean, some chick singer and Jimi H.)
Running Wild has done: Conquistadores, The Battle of Waterloo, Stortebeker (A German Pirate), Little Big Horn (the massacre of Custer), Treasure Island (the book), Tsar (Nicolas II).

That's a start, eh amigo? :)
