Again, Mike Smith plays a big part in the overall performance of the band.

I love Mike Smith as a drummer, but I think it's odd how the one album without Mike Smith is the most revered album in terms of overall performance.

But then again, none of us know what that album would have sounded like, if Mike Smith had been on that record.

I honest don't think PFW would have been as good if Mike Smith played on it. I love Mike as a drummer, but I think Doug Bohn's style fit that album PERFECTLY.

Oh, and Blood Oath sounds good to me so far. I don't get why people are saying it's too slow. Suffocation has never been known for playing really fast anyway.

Great album... the band is never going to change much. Suffocation will be Suffocation whether you love it or hate it.

album is pretty fucking slick.

Ranking:

BtS > Pierced > Effigy > Blood Oath > DtS > StD > S/T

I already pre-ordered it, I'm going to fight the temptation to listen to the leaked version. I'm also going to do my best to ignore all the negative opinions that people here are guaranteed to have. I fucking love Suffocation, they haven't made a bad album yet in my opinion.

The same here dude, but I did download the song blood oath just to get the idea and it blew me away...

Are you serious? The cover art is hilariously bad. As is most of JonZig's work.

Yes i am. You must be hard to please, because i think the cover art is pretty badass...

Most of John Zig's art is pretty terrible, but I think Blood Oath looks really cool. I might buy the album when it comes out, the self titled wasn't too bad at all.

I think its one of the most sickest album covers ive seen in a long time

I love the artwork. Then again, I like red.

Suffocation is one of the greatest death metal bands of all time. Looking forward to this.

I'm definitely going to buy the T-shirt.

I fucking love Blood Oath. Great return to form after a relatively disappointing s/t.

Wasn't too pleased with it. Big fan of their first few releases, most specifically their Human Waste EP, but whatever, Suffocation is Suffocation. It's certainly bad, but it's not album of the year material either.
