I live 40 mins. south-west of Boston, and I have searched great amounts for unique metal record stores in the city, but I have had no luck.

Where do you guys live? I live right outside Boston. Sorry I can't help though, I get most of my albums off the internet, hehe.

Newbury Comics is your best bet on Newbury St. in Boston.
In Providence, RI there is Armageddon Shop, which has a fucking awesome selection of vinyl, cds, and shirts. The owner is Ben from Dropdead.

I live about 45min southeast of Boston.

an hour north from Boston...

There's Newbury Comics of course, which is more a chain. 2 Boston locations, a cambridge location, some southern and western ma locations, 3 new hampshire locations, and i think a maine location too.

Armageddon from Rhode Island

Second Coming records from Cambridge (haven't been here, dunno if it's good).

There's also a few record shops around who are more focused on punk than metal, however they do have a decent amount of metal as well.
