Great thread! There are some good names being mentioned in here.

"Casper's Dictum" by The County Medical Examiners comes to mind, mainly because of the connection of "Corporal Jigsore Quandary."

Some others that I first came to mind:

- Demilich - "The Echo"
Seriously, this song fucking kills. I can't think of any other songs offhand that come close to the amount of adrenaline this song injects. The groove and RIFFS never get old.

- The Monolith Deathcult - "Kindertodeslied"
Not old-school by any measure, but it's hard for this song to leave my head once I've listened to it. TMDC never fail to impress.

- Cryptopsy - "Born Headless"
I'm pretty sure this needs no explanation.

- Odious Mortem - "Vile Progeny"
I've gotta give these guys the "Catchiest Modern Tech-Death" award, and this song is a really good example of that. Very energetic piece o' music.

why would you sound like a fag for saying that, Dying Fetus rule.

Because old Dying Fetus is some of the most typical, generic brutal DM ever created. But nevertheless, that song always come in my head and I can't help but love it. :oh shit:

Hmmm...DF never came across as generic to me, or typical....in fact, you're the first person I've heard say that, haha. But that's cool, it's interesting to hear other people's perspecives about music.

How could I forget Behemoth?! o_O I'd say their most catchy song is Chant for Ezkaton. What a great intro, and such an addictive verse.

I'm not sure if Arsis has been mentioned yet, but some of the riffs on A Celebration Of Guilt are extremely catchy.

The first couple of songs on Entombed's Clandestine are very heavy. I always get Nicke's grunts in "Evilyn" stuck in my head, for instance.

The title track from Leprosy by Death is pretty damn catchy, Born Dead is as well. My favorite Death track by far. The way the music is structured around the vocal line in the chorus is catchy as hell.

aye, good call.

dunno if Blood Duster counts in this (pretty much grind-rock) but i dare say 85% or more of their recorded material fits the criteria of catchy. even if a bit overtly so.

here some more from me:
Mordicus-Cybernetic Summer (slap happy stuff here haha)
Carnage-The Day Man Lost (the entire is 5 catchy minutes)
Repulsion-Black Breath
Hypocrisy-To Escape is to Die ( a friend once said it sounds like the intro music to a cop show from the 70's.. if the riff was played on the synth)

Wait - is my control + f not functioning properly, or has no one mentioned Obituary's Chopped in Half? If you don't find yourself singing along to that you must be a deaf-mute.

Chapel of Ghouls- Morbid Angel

Dechristianize- Vital Remains

The Kept and The Funeral Parlours Secret- Deceased

Portervia- Avulsed

Ashen Epitaph- Benediction

A very notable one would have to be Dying Fetus' song 'Skullfucked'
It really pulls you in, gets you going and spits you out of it's ugly mouth.

Lord Gore - Morgue Whore

I feel that's worth mentioning! When those lyrics come in, "Incision begins below the second rib.", the song gets so fucking awesome.

Without a doubt, "Scars Of The Crucifix" by Deicide and also "Icons Of Evil" by Vital Remains.
Recently, "Taking The World By Storm" by Kataklysm.

Xefer and The Final Massacre - by Vader

Eaten - Bloodbath

Devoured by Vermin - CC

Slaughter of Innocence - Malevolent creation

The Mauler - Divine Empire (Monster DM Chorus)

Bind, Torture, Kill - Suffocation

The Colour of Sleep - Psycroptic - I enjoy whole song but first 30 seconds of matthew chalk being himself and the catchy riffs are good DM fun for sure.

Now that I think of it [don't remember if I said this already], "Ceremony of the Seventh Circle" by Vital Remains is catchy as fuck. I second "Corporal Jigsore Quandry" from Carcass as well.

"Annihilation of the Wicked" from Nile is fucking epic, catchy, and all around a very interesting song. Definitely doesn't seem like an 8 minute great..

Nile's Execration Text plays in my head right now. And I could mention a dozen Death's songs. Other catchy shit:

In Flames-Lord Hypnos and Goliaths Disarm Their Davids

Carcass-Cadaveric Incubator of Endo-Parasites and Corporal Jigsore Quandry

Pestilence-Chronic Infection

Antichristian Phenomenon - Behemoth. The opening riffs and Nergals vocals make it super catchy for me.

Evil Dead by Death :p

I can never get that intro out of my head, with that cool guitar melody that sort of reminds me of Castlevania.

And then there's that scream in the chorus :p

Also "Deformed" by Grave is really catchy. I don't remember if that's been mentioned yet. Actually, pretty much all of "Into the Grave" is really catchy, though not in a melodic way - just the rhythms.

I am probably gonna get flamed for this but I love Arsis.

Face of My Innocence and Maddening Disdain are badass.

Evil Dead by Death and Death By Bewitchment by Exorcist are also favorites of mine.

Well to me these are some enormously catchy songs/ albums!

Suffocation’s Catatonia, Human Waste
Decapitated’s Day 69, Spheres of Madness
Incinerate – Anatomize (yeah the whole album is so catchy that I always find myself humming these songs at work)
Immolation’s World Agony is such a great song in fact the whole Shadows in The Light, Close To a World Below and Here in After are really great albums.
Deicide’s Once Upon The Cross.
Hate Eternal’s Conquering The Throne (Their best work to date)
Sinister’s The Silent Howling

How can one forget Bolt Thrower, “Those Once Loyal” is the catchiest stuff they ever put out. Listen to it once and you’ll want to listen to it again and again and again.
CC’s A Skull Full of Maggots with Nothing Left To Mutilate and Decency Defiled.

Death - Evil dead
Everything's catchy on this song!

Pestilence - Out Of The Body
especially the vocal lines but also the catchy riffing.

Morbid Angel - Chapel of Ghouls
Mostly because of the happy sing-a-long section

Grave - Sexual Mutilation
The chorus!

Necrophobic - Slow Asphyxiation
again: the chorus!

Unleashed - Before Creation Of Time
Catchy up tempo groove with understandable lyrics and rhythm

Carcass - Exhumed To Consume
I still sing it along

Bolt Thrower - Profane Creation
Catchy as a whole but the chorus is damn heavy and catchy

Napalm Death - Suffer the Children
The riffs are extremely catchy and the vocal lines actually understandable

pfff. I could go on and on... so many!
