Warlord are due to release their first album without founder/guitarist/main composer Bill Tsamis this spring... they have roped in Eric Juris of Crystal Viper to mimic Tsamis' guitar style... the album cover alludes to their debut EP "Deliver Us"...

first song dropped yesterday:

a very special band <3

Mark Zonder brought in Jimmy Waldo of Alcatrazz and New England who he played with in the Graham Bonnet Band and Phillip Bynoe from A-Z. I had heard of Crystal Viper but those other guys were totally unknown to me otherwise. Sounds like a great line up and I love the first tune. The vocalist is a perfect fit. I had no idea this was happening till last night.

I read in another thread that they're using songs Tsamis helped write before he died - that's the only way this would really make sense to me...

Wow! OK this was really unexpected. Good on Mark Zonder for keeping Warlord alive.

I still have fond memories of this band from when I was a kid, and absoutely loved "Deliver us" when it came out (83 or 84; can't remember as I was just a kid.) I am certainly intrigued by this for sure.

More eccentric than the first song. This vocalist really shines when he is in the higher range of his voice. I think this will turn out well.

The chorus on “Conquerers” is sublime. Perfectly executed.

I don't know. I haven't heard the 2nd single but the first one, I listened to it twice and still it doesn't amaze me... I found Virgin Steele's Gethesmane and Spiritual Warfare more interesting.

I agree with Benedict Donald about that chorus.

It's nice that Mark Zonder decided to continue with Bill's material.
Their discography is so damn short. I always wanted some more Warlord, since their music is so unique.

A killer, a taker of echo is what you are.

Speak no more lies. David and VS sure could do with some spiritual healing.

I am willing to wager I like this album better than the last two if these two songs are representative. Sounds like a nice blending of all eras.
