Shit, that's right. I got those mixed up. Glad to hear the Vestiges tracks are good though.

Yeah, everything Vestiges has done is top-notch in my books.

NP:

Masakari - Live at La Casa

Seeing that I was at this show I was pleasantly surprised when they posted a link on facebook to a full audio recording of their set there. A great band to see live at such a small venue. And you can hear the songs from the nearby radio station coming in through their amps in between songs too.

Anaal Nathrakh - In the Constellation of the Black Widow

The most violent song from the most violent band I've ever heard.

Scrambled Defuncts - In Authority of Madness

This is interesting, to say the least. I like it! Utterly ridiculous though, and some of the changes between symphonics and guitar driven madness are just schizophrenic (some done well, some done horribly).

Yeah, this one is a little bit all over the place. I don't think they've really refined the sound they were going for, but if they persist, I reckon they will. Hackled in Gore is ultimately the best thing they've done, though. That album is a beast.

Yeah, it's enjoyable but all over the place is a good way of putting it. I've only checked out their latest album so far, mainly thanks to it being mentioned in the Fleshgod Apocalypse thread as a better version of what Fleshgod are aiming for. I'll check out Hackled in Gore though, thanks!

Necrocurse - Grip of The Dead.

Very energetic, very Thrashy Death Metal.
One of my favourites this year

Honey for Christ - The Final Transition

Thanks to that new review for reminding me how good this is. Pummeling riffing, deep vocals and some catchy, sorrowful melody...very cool.

Blind Guardian - A Past and Future Secret

There's nothing like old favorites when you're feeling nostalgic.

Drudkh - The Swan Road

Not my favorite album of theirs that I've heard, but still very good. The guitar solo in 'The Price of Freedom" is awesome.

Autopsy - Shitfun

Relisten to it after many years... what a sick album!

Hooded Menace - The House of Hammer.

Awesomeness.

Main riff is strinkingly similar to Requiem for a Dream's theme song.

Boris ~ Pink (full album)

I've always been a huge Boris fan, I just love the experimental nature of the sound. I've always loved music that pushes genre boundaries, and Boris certainly does that.

Day 3 of Sabbath - 13 Anticipa-Nation-Station

Listened to 'Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath'; 'Sabotage'; 'Technical Ecstasy'; and just finished 'Never Say Die!'...

Now, we're finally listening to 13 for the first time (w/ the 4 bonus tracks).

EDIT: Really digging this so far. Seems to have a bit of all the Ozzy-Sabbath melded together. Liking the mix I made too-- bonus tracks interspersed throughout the regular album rotation.

I saw Naam live a few months ago, and they drew a really good crowd, so I think it's safe to say that they're catching on. Great band! I really need to get around to buying their album.

NP: Benediction - Deadfall

The way that the intro explodes into the main riff is fantastic; Grind Bastard is a monolithic record!

Where did you see them at? My friends Liz and Ana saw them in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and they said there was literally only 15 people there, but they played like there were hundreds. I admire that, when musicians show that they are real and passionate about what they do.

Lord Belial - Forlorn in Silence

One of my favorite acoustic songs in metal. Absolutely beautiful.

Primitive Man - Rags

Jesus shit-crushin' christ. Disgustingly heavy, dissonant, and noisy as fuck sludge/ doom. Addicting as hell. Surprisingly enough, I just now found out they are playing a show tonight in my city. I am there.

I saw them in Edinburgh, Scotland, so maybe they've caught more attention over on this side of the Atlantic. I'd estimate there were over 100 people present, give or take.

Yeah, apparently only like 20 people showed up at the Montréal show :( I had something else that evening unfortunately

NP: Rev-B: Dark Sorceress (Autumn Siege). Finally writing a review for one of my favorite bands, not this album though!

Russian Circles - Empros

My favorite Russian Circles album. The production is fantastic. It's not as glossy as Geneva, which works in its favor. I'm SUPER stoked for their new album in the fall, and the subsequent tour. That will be my ninth time seeing them (and maybe the 10th if they have multiple Michigan dates!). I'm a fanboy for these dudes for sure.

Man, that album is pretty much perfect. Really digging their new one, although not quite as good and not really metal anymore.

Alpinist - Rogen
Some good ass kicking crusty hardcore with some room for melody.

Cartilage - The Fragile Concept of Affection (Split w/Altar)

Don't care much for Altar's part, but Cartilage is awesome. Superb riffing, drumming and vocals.

Watain - Kill a Child (from the upcoming album)

My first thought is... where did the teeth go? And by that I don't mean my own but the band's. Surprisingly toothless. I wouldn't call them 'sell-outs' with this, since they've been on this track for close to three albums now, but damn this was... bland.
