I can agree with that. Amazing album.

np: new Drudkh. Quite good, kind of a return to their black roots.

Guys, I'll take the time to say that it would be really cool to let a short sentence when you're posting something here. So it wouldn't be post whoring, just an appreciation or something, not too much asked and it would create more discussions

edit, since my messages are not loud enough.

:np: Rhapsody of Fire- Triumph for my Magic Steel

Got into this band a week ago or so and I already picked up three of their albums. Really enjoy their style of power metal, although there's the occasion dungfest. Good band though, glad I finally checked them out.

Even though their latest few discs get some hate here and there, I like everything the 'Rays have done from Land Of The Free onward.

Autumn - The Venamoured

Sludgy, psychedelic-style haze of distorted rhythms and mournful vocals - what a dark tune, what a dark album.

Dream Theater - Home

I've been warming up to Scenes From a Memory lately, and the awesomeness of this song is a big part of it. That opening riff, despite it's similarities to that one Tool riff is still a great way to kick off the journey of this song.

Angel Witch - Dead Sea Scrolls

I'm not too sure what to make of it, having not listened to much Angel Witch in the first place, but it sounds alright of it's own merits.

That song wasn't originally called 'The past reborns the storms' or something like that? nothing like broken english from Brazil.

The demo version of that song is named ''The Past Reborns the Storms''. Makes more sense!

NP: Sepultura - To the Wall

THIS IS IDIOTISM!

More great raw thrash metal. If only Max sounded this vicious on BTR as well.

It's better than expected, that's for sure... though I have to say that great single moments are missing this time and it's only the sound that makes up for this. Enjoyable yes, but their weakest pure black metal album IMO... also because there's too much recycling here.

on:
Fear, And Loathing In Las Vegas - Take Me Out!!

I wonder how these guys made it on the Pro Evolution Soccer 12 soundtrack, but whatever, quite nice stuff.

Opeth - The Moor

I loved this album, then I wanted to hate it for over the year. Hearing it again now, it's pretty good. It could use a bit of trimming, particularly this song to make it flow better. The album as a whole needs at least 5 minute chopped off.

Especially the 2nd half, the first 3 songs are killer but then it falls apart.

np: Deicide - When Satan Rules his World.

"Open the door Jehova, you whore!" priceless.

The Black Dahlia Murder - The Raven

This album just fucking rips. I know most would say Nocturnal, but I honestly think that Ritual is their best work by far. Then again most TBDM fans aren't huge on Deflorate, and I love that album.

Yeah, it's a pity this to be such an irregular band!

NP: Isis - "Holy Tears"

I've been hearing them on and off again over the years and I've finally gotten around to checking them out more recently. Loving them so far. I love the sheer heaviness and atmosphere of their sound. It's often quite haunting as well, like in this particular song. The growls are great, and the singing and lyrics are beautiful.

Other tracks I like: "In Fiction", "Not in rivers, but in drops", "Hand of the Host", "Hall of the Dead", "Wavering Radiant", etc. Definitely buying a few albums as soon as I get the money. Other artists similar to them that I'm also in the process of checking out are Jesu and Pelican.

The incredibly dense, involving songwriting really makes it a rewarding experience, and one you can't stop listening to once you 'get it.' Plus Tim's vocals are amazing and the band just has this incredible ability to write leads and melodies that unfold and reveal complexities every time.
