Candlemass - Witches

Specifically the Tony Martin version. It rules, just as you expect something involving Tony Martin to do.

Dvorhead - Genos Caedere

Rifftastic brutal death metal from France. Pity that these guys never got signed and split up after only one album.

Pestilence - Horror Detox

I don't know why people hate this album, saying that it doesn't sound like Pestilence. Sure, the sound is a little more modern, but it most definitely has the Pestilence sound - particularly in the solos.

Deep Purple - Never Before

Great tune. Old school rock and roll, very catchy hook. Loving this whole album.

Sadus - Swallowed In Black

Starting off the weekend with a bang! One of my all-time faves. A real thrashterpiece.

Morbid Angel - Invocation of the Continual One

Pretty ritualistic sounding with some fun catchy riffs popping up here and there. I dig it.

Metal Gear 2 - Zanzibar Breeze (remix version)

People always seem to forget that the Nintendo Metal Gears had some pretty great music as well.

Saint Vitus - The Psychopath

Fuck, I love Saint Vitus so much. This song has the heart and soul of doom metal, and is quite possibly the best song on the self-titled album.

Spinning the latest Kêres-album, Battle Secrets.

Really, really good record! It's got some great riffing all over. Also, the artwork is amazing. Skancke's got a fine sense of detail in his drawings!

My favorite Saint Vitus album is V and I'm aware I stand in the minority when it comes to that opinion. But I'm OK with it, as long as you like the band! Only the latest full-length is questionable, in my opinion. It always felt more like an EP anyway.

Metallica - Eye of the Beholder

Pretty underrated track for them - forgot how good this was before I got the album again recently. Solid groovy riff and a catchy chorus. The album as a whole is an unrelenting barrage of angry lyrics and dark, stodgy riffs. Punishing shit.

I always thought it's In Hollow Halls Beneath the FAlls.

Even The Spirits Are Afraid from (2003) The Gathering - Souvenirs.
About time! Last The Gathering album I REALLY listened to.
We listened to (1997) The Gathering - Nighttime Birds, (1998) The Gathering - How To Measure A Planet, (2000) The Gathering - If_Then_Else and (2003) The Gathering - Souvenirs on our way to (and back from) the parachute jump:

Seriously? What label?

Midnight Odyssey - Shores Serene

Must listen to Funerals as much as possible before I move on to their newest album. This is the only album I can think of that's this long without over staying its welcome.

Burning Witch - Tower Place

Yep, this rules. The doom is enveloping and dense. The right things happen at the right time. The vocals are all over the place and sound literally like a burning, heroin-crazed witch.

Basajaun - The Unforgotten King

Pretty cool doom from Colombia. Always a treat to hear trad doom from unexpected places. This gives off an Italian vibe with the keys and vocals. Hopefully there will be a proper release later this year because I'd buy that for a dollar (or more).

Perfect setup for the new Metal Gear. I hope she gets to do more tracks for it.

Sielunvihollinen - Hautaruhtinas

Or something like that.. I dunno. All I know is that the first two tracks on their first full length are fucking insanely catchy Finnish black metal.

Skeletal Remains' 'Traumatic Existence', off Beyond the Flesh. Music's great, love the instrumentation and the solos in particular really stand out... but holy hell are those vocals annoying. Just... so annoying.

Ord - Burning Sun

Nice, new Black Metal band from Canada that just poped up with a very slight taste of Folk and Doom to it. I'm giving Of Rain & Dirt a full listen ATM.

Favorite song off Headless Cross. Just like the album, everything about this song is done correctly.

Immortal - Mount North

All Shall Fall is often slept on, which I think is a bit sad. It's a damn solid album. Nothing groundbreaking, but it's Immortal doing what Immortal does best, and it's filled with great songs. Norden on Fire is probably my favorite, but the whole album is worthwhile.

The problem with the album is that's too safe, besides the lack of aggression and the lesser quality of the riffs.

Np Judas Priest - Metal Meltdown. This is THE JP song, the definite heavy/speed/almost thrashy song of them. Rob does the performance of his life, way better than Painkiller IMO.

Virgin Steele - Riderless Horse (Save Your Breath)

This bluesy style actually sounds pretty fun and exciting, silly vocal lines aside.

...The concerning question, however, is: how come the new tunes on this bonus disc are actually better than the tunes on the regular album?!
