5 Centimeters Per Second OST - Distant Everyday Memories

Why can't I hold all these feels? Might be because I got something in my eye. ;A;

Nokturnal Mortum - Valkyria (early version)

Simply stunning. I think it's better than the original, and I worshipped the hell out of original.

The slow build-up from pinkfloyd-esque acoustic middle section to climactic finish is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever made. I went there.

Shivers down the spine.

Altvater - "Schreckenssteppe" from Chroniken

Epic and folky black metal. I'm enjoying this.

Molested - "Blod-draum"

Instrumental track from the album of the same name. I love wtf moments like this -- what am I listening to?? This should totally not be awesome, but is.

Great album. It's hard to imagine that music was made by the same guy who's the brainchild of Borknagar.

Dark Moor - Silver Lake

Despite being flowery as hell, this has a conviction and forcefulness to it that really makes it sound metal, and I think a lot of new bands in this style don't quite have Dark Moor's level of excitement and attitude. Elisa is such a great singer too. Like Freedom Call's first three albums, this takes Helloween's Keepers formula and does it better.

Hexenhaus - As Darkness Falls

This is still one of my favorites to this day. Mike Wead is a fucking beast! This takes thrash to a technical and epic level. Maybe thrash is a bit more malleable some would think. ;)

Manowar - Achilles, Agony, and Ecstasy

What a steaming pile of self-indulgent shit. Good lord is this bad.

Destiny's End - Transition (Joe Floyd Mix)

This is album doesn't get the love that the debut did but I think it's stellar. And this mix is cool but I think it's a bit bottom heavy. The vocals are better, though.

Hahah, you are not alone bro, I used to listen to the first two albums a lot, not liking the new one so much because of the hip-hop influences.

Carnifex-last words

These guys are adding more death metal influences to its death-core sound, good album.

Running Wild - Soldiers of Hell

Next to this gritty gem the prospect of Rolf releasing a new RW album just makes me sad.

Bruce Springsteen - I'm on Fire

I don't like Bruce Springsteen but I heard this song in The Hunter last night and now I can't stop listening to it.

Hypocrisy - Blooddrenched

I remember being hooked on this album when I was in high school, several years later and this is still one of my favorite Hypocrisy albums. Just tons of riffs and catchy chorus lines that don't let up until that really depressing last track

Fantastic midpaced dirge...searing like the hot-blowing sands of the desert. Really good.

Manowar - Battle Hymns (album)

After years of hearing that Bathory took inspiration from them (the drumming always gets brought up), and Quorthon (of course) denying it, I thought I'd give them a listen. So, while I don't really hear any viking-era Bathory here, it's definitely a fun album! It's been a while since I heard some basic heavy fuckin' metal! :-) Metal Daze in particular was fun.

Bosse-de-Nage - A Subtle Change

Well, the opening riff got me right from the start. I consider myself a genuine fan of black metal and post-rock, so the last three minutes of this song were very pleasing to hear. At least this actually is post-rock/black metal. And they do it just as well as that other 'post-black metal' band from San Francisco.

Taran - Dominus Muscarum

Someone mentioned these guys in the black metal rec thread. This is some bad ass black metal. I'm waiting for the Immortal cover at the end....patiently.

Interesting quite personal black metal from Romania. The new album seems to be darker than it predecessor.

Running Wild - Fight the Fire of Hate

The evil madman has taken his toll
Possessing their minds, ooowning their souls!
Souls of hate, hell awaits
Trembled with fear while they're walking its gates

Fight! Fight! the fire of hate
Fight evil before it's too late!

This album is pure gold. First time listening to this interpret and I truely have to say that what I'm hearing is the finest art I heard in recent times.

Fates Warning - Exodus

It's always great to listen to an old favorite for the first time in ages and find that it still takes you to the same places it did when you first heard it. There will never be another album like this one.
