lol @ Folkemon. I love the melodies in San Sebastian but aren't the lyrics about being a creeper?

Pretty sure its about a chick he loved but she found someone else or something.

Sonata Arctica - The End Of This Chapter

This might be the song you're on about

Insomnium - Ephemeral

This EP would be much better if there was more than one metal song.

Persuader - Twisted Eyes, off When Eden Burns

Call me crazy, but I prefer this album over the debut. I don't know, it just sounds more engaging to me, The Hunter's titletrack notwithstanding.

Darkthrone - The Beast

Giving Ravishing Grimness perhaps the third of fourth listen ever - it's enjoyable and solid - much more riff-reliant than the early work, thus continuing the transition to being more meaty, which began with Panzerfaust.

Nailed this off of a Japanese auction site for a semi-reasonable price.

Good Aussies death metal, and I certainly think they're an underrated band. With a good deal of thrash and melodic elements, there's some crushing death metal. Riff-y death metal is one of my favorite sounds!

Great album man, picked it up a couple months ago. They just came out with a compilation album of their two studio albums, an EP, and other unreleased tracks, which I'm thinking of getting. But yeah, very cool band.

This is excellent fucking news, as the originals can be exorbitantly over priced and hard to get a hold of. Will be picking that up for sure. Seen them live a couple of times though...

Akercocke - Choronzon

Really good album, though only my second favourite after the mighty The Goat Of Mendes. Still very good stuff though.

This geryon....
http://geryon.bandcamp.com/album/geryon

It sounds like Baring Teeth's crazier stuff but slowed down. But not doom versions. Just slower crazy... Also kinda reminds me of new Gorguts to a degree.

Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse

This is the only Emperor album I currently have, and I don't know why I haven't bothered to check out more of their stuff, because it's awesome.

Rush - Hemispheres

This is such an overloaded song, almost too much, but the band plays with such gusto that it remains cohesive throughout. An amazing feat of indulgence and pretension that actually has a rock-solid point to it. Wonderful music.

Now is when you explain why Anthems to the Welkin at dusk is not a worthy album, by the Satans sake.

I have to check out the old albums but Dani's live performances ruined it for me QUITE some time ago.

[quote]

Well, Dani lost his voice, its a fact but it was something expectable, in the early years his screams where something incredible, inhuman, and he screamed in that way every fucking night, I dont how he was capable of doing that. Sadly, even his throath had a limit and some years ago it reached that limit.

But this doesnt ruin the excellent music of the first albums, I am not such a fan of the debut, so I always recommend the trilogy( vempire-Dusk and her embrace-Cruelty and the Best), three masterpieces that summarize why COF reached such a high status.

And I even consider Godspeed and Darkly a good albums, the best thing that COF can offer nowadays.

I was going to warn the OP about each album been quite different but...
-If you don't mind the style change, continue chronologically. If you do, try with (1992-1993) Emperor - Emperor + Wrath Of The Tyrant (1998 Remaster). I remember buying the original (1992) Emperor - Wrath Of The Tyrant and returning it to the shop because of the FUCKING sound quality! LOL!
-What?!? The ONLY one worht?!? NO way!
-That's it! For example.

(2006) Negura Bunget - Om is, indeed, REALLY nice! But this band was AMAZING! Let's hope new Negura Bunget and Dordeduh start giving us more amazing albums! Anyway, (2012) Dordeduh - Dar De Duh and (2010) Negura Bunget - Vîrstele Pamîntului are not bad at all.

The fact about his voice is true but my problem is that (1998) Cradle Of Filth - Cruelty and the Beast sounds, now, "stupid" for me and I hear a lot of fillers in this album too. I have to try with the old ones.

El Camino de las Utopías from (2013) Extremoduro - Para Todos Los Públicos.
And, again, nice album! I REALLY like what they started with (2008) Extremoduro - La Ley Innata.

P.S: Did you know someone was arrested for filtering the new CD?
He tried to sell copies of the CD before it was published, threatened the band when they tried to stop the filtering and, finally, the band had to publish the album earlier because of this.
Now, he'll go to jail:

Indeed. Lyrics are some of the best in rock, easily. Most of their mid-period stuff is.

Tad Morose - Servant of the Bones

New TM's got nothing on this. A 2000s power metal classic.

Lie in Ruins - Swallowed by the Void

Streaming through their Bandcamp. I sincerely want to like this more. It has most of the classic Finnish death metal traits anyone could want and I have a ton of respect for bands that are giving it another go after toiling away with demos and EPs and compilation appearances over the last two decades-plus. Either it's lacking that x-factor for me or it's all a little too much of what it's "expected" to be. I don't outright dislike it, though, and perhaps it'll fit better as a prelude or companion piece to their new album next year.

Iron Maiden - The Evil that Men Do

"Love is a razor, and I walked the line on that silver blade..."

It used to be my favourite Iron Maiden song when I was younger. The whole album is incredibly nostalgic for me, and brings me back to a time when I would just spend evenings alone, listening to music and draw, feeling inspired and creative.

Hell - On Earth As It Is In Hell

I gotta admit, as much as this still sounds amazingly good and all, I can't get as excited as I once did. It just can't compare with the initial euphoria of hearing it for the first time. But still, great band anyway.

Pyrexia - The Pendulum

My first taste of this new album. Sounds amazing so far. Yes. Yes indeed. Production allows the crisp, technical guitars to crunch your face while the vocals pierce through just right.

Think this is the last time I listen to Manowar in half a year. Got an overdose of them. This song is no Dark Avenger, nor is it Gates of Valhalla. Still a great rocking tune.

I wouldn't trust someone who didn't like the rock songs on the debut. :p

Hell - The Age of Nefarious

This is an outstanding song, hope the rest of the album is as good.

Protest the Hero - The Divine Suicide Of K.
IMO, one of the weakest tracks of the otherwise very good album Kezia, and yet it's pretty much above average.
(which comes immediately before one of the best tracks)
