I'm currently slighty drunk, and this track is beyond amazing. It'll shield me against all the mainstream music I'll have to suffer during this night. Cheers.

Hoest is a genius. I'm really looking forward to the new album.

Children - Advanced Mind Control
It's great to know that you can always come back to this album and be blown away just like the first time you heard it. One of the greatest proggy thrash albums out there.

Highland Glory - Spirit of Salvation, off Forever Endeavour

Pristine guitars and keyboards running alongside soaring, charismatic vocals. Exquisite.

Triosphere - My Fortress

None of you bastards told me Triosphere's new album came out already! I only found out because some dude reviewed it! ;n;

Alice in Chains - Head Creeps

So good. Groovy riffs and an unsettling vocal from Layne.

Mithotyn - Embraced by frost
This, coupled with some really good beer (founder's porter and some tank no.7) makes for a really good evening. Свободный Кавказ.

Leaves' Eyes - Njord

Epic! Definitely viking metal vibes, and a very epic song structure.

Though I think that Leaves eyes sound too symphonic righ now, the song you mention is absolutely great.

Ered Wethrin(Sverige)-Part II (A Darkness Beyond Dark)

This song is just beautiful and sad at the same time, marvellous melodies.

Hibernus Mortis - The Existing Realms of Perpetual Sorrow

For some reason a reviewer gave this album a score of zero. While it does have its flaws, its quite an enjoyable slab of cavernous death metal

Bloody Hammers - Spearfinger

One of the better songs on a very average album. Sounds like Dax Riggs' solo stuff.

Really digging the bass solo in this song. This whole album is great. I'm excited for people to hear it!

Urfaust - Der Freiwillige Bettler [album]

It's been a while since I listened to this one all the way through - it was risking being one of those records I always play the same few tracks from. Fortunately, I just reminded myself how great the whole thing is; superbly weaving, sublime and impassioned.

Yes. It captures the sadness that this moment in The Silmarillion must have had. I believe it's right after (spoiler) Morgoth and Ungoliant had destroyed the trees and stolen the Silmarils.

Utah Phillips - Miner's Lullaby. This song really tugs at my heart in a way that few others do.

Indeed. I love that album but it would have been even better with more songs.

Np : Rakim - The 18th Letter
In the mood for some hip hop. Its surreal that this album dropped 17 years ago.

Absolutely rigt Raumr. The Darknening of Valinor is the name of this moment, and if I am not wrong a bonus track from Summoning´s last album. What a masterpiece of a book.

Amiensus-Become the Fear

This debut is a brilliant piece of black/prog/atmospheric metal. I cant wait to listen to the second album. :hyper:

Dawnbringer - VII

Chris Black just "gets it." Sounds like Manilla Road crossed with Maiden with Lemmy on vocals.

Viraemia - Necrotizing Fasciitis

Such a fucking shame these guys had to break up, they had loads upon boatloads of potential to be a big band in the technical death metal scene. They're miles ahead of all the mindless blasty-blast bands that fill up the scene.

Whiplash - Ticket to Mayhem

Pretty unique little album. Not quite the straight forward thrash/speed metal attack one would expect. Quite a bit of strange riffing and some odd structures spice it up a little, and it has a weird atmosphere that is certainly in-tune with the cover art. Cool shit.

I still have a hard time believing this came out in '87. Dream Death still don't get the props they deserve.

The Duskfall - where the trees stand dead.
I really dunno what to think about this album. On one hand, the instrumentals are easily the best sounding they've ever been. On the other, it sounds like a sonny and Cher duet of two really god awful power metal vocalists. Take away the bad parts, and this album is on par with Nightrage..

Agreed. I have no fucking clue what they were thinking when they got the guy from Engel on vocals... it's unbelievably bad. It nearly ruins the music. Like, To The Pigs is fucking awesome; it sounds just like a Gates of Ishtar song... but with horrible vocals.

Binah - Torpid Blight of the Spirit

This is quickly becoming one of my top OSDM bands. I love the vocals and they riff it up with atmosphere, tasteful lead-work, and a commanding presence. Great band. This EP has me very excited for their next full-length. Plus, I'm clearly a sucker for the HM2 sound. ;)

Highland Glory - Wild Child (W.A.S.P. cover), off Forever Endeavour

The slick production somewhat hurts the dirty undertones of the original, but damn if this guy doesn't sing his ass off. Stunning singer.

Savatage - The Hourglass

I'm just finishing a back-to-back run of Dead Winter Dead and The Wake of Magellan, and this really cements how much I love this band. I'm in the minority preferring the Zak Stevens era, but I think this is when they really hit their stride. I'm excited to see them next year at Wacken, and pretty curious about the set as well.

Refreshing, listening to them after a while. The music keeps unraveling in numerous ways, pure delight.

Whoa, that's weird. I just did that with those two albums the other night. They get a lot of hate but I love both of those albums.

Serious Black - I Seek No Other Life

Not sure why no one around here is talking about this but goddamn this sounds quite good. Something else that has turned to gold due to Urban Breed's involvement.

Spoiler: show

Sabbat - The Melody of Death Mask

Pretty pointless to make this one track. You can even hear where the seperately recorded songs are cut together. Anyways, good stuff.
