Mercyful Fate - A Dangerous Meeting

This is still perhaps the most evil metal album ever. Metal got more extreme, it got bleaker and it got more nihilistic, but it never matched the sinister atmosphere and pure Satanic glee that this album has. A true milestone...plus it has great Maidenesque riffs and a production that is one of my top favorites ever, with that cavernous fiery sound. Hellish and exciting.

You're right! 'A Dangerous Meeting' is such a great song, a total classic in every way. 'Don't Break the Oath' really captures that... sacred feeling that metal sometimes has. Of course, it's evil as hell, but still.

Psychotic Waltz - Nothing

'Whew, that puts perspective on things, doesn't it?'
'Too much! It's too much fucking perspective!'

Such a great way to end the album. =D

Since I've been listening all day and have been pimping this....

http://jutegyte.bandcamp.com/album/senescence

It's an incredible album, filled to the brim with excellent songwriting and noise. It's like transcendence through sewers...

Agreed on all counts. The initial EP, DBTO, and Melissa are three of the best clean singing albums I've ever had the pleasure to listen to in terms of chilling, evil metal.

Incantation - Transcend into Absolute Dissolution

The sick chords in this song really make my dick hard.

Cool. This album is muddy as all hell but it's enjoyable.

Mitochondrion - Parasignosis

I love this thing. The production is perfect for the type of music they play: not too clear, not too muddy, and with soft edges, if that makes sense. I even really enjoy the 9 minute outro track. I couldn't get into their debut album but this is something I do enjoy a lot.

That's fair enough; it's not for everyone, considering what the rest of the album delivers. However, I like it and I believe it fits great as a closer.

If you can make out the riffs through the thickness, yeah. :)

Brain Drill - Quantum Catastrophe

Lots of shit gets flung at this band, but this is a really cool album. A step up from the debut, which I also enjoyed. This album feels a little more complete and better structured. I don't care how much noodling and sweeps there are. It's great fun to listen to. That closing track is just something else!

Kyojaku - Kokou no Gadan

Lush, atmospheric math rock from Japan. Not overtly technical, yet not simplistic either; just the right amount of technicality.

Judas Priest - Blood Red Skies, off Ram It Down

Talking about an underrated Priest tune. This glorious, industrialoid epic is completely unique in JP's disco, and it contains what must be one of my favorite Halford vocal performances ever.
