Anaal Nathrakh - Submission is for the Weak

Tempted to have a marathon of their albums today, but I'll probably stick with the first three, which I've only newly bought.

Candlemass - Solitude

seems like a fitting way to start the day as I'm feeling a bit anti-social

Never mind the last post, turns out it is going to be a marathon.

Necromantia - The Black Arts Lead To Everlasting Sins

My copy of the 2010 reissue. Only 4 songs play. Only the original 4 from the Necromantia side of this split.

The music is awesome, I'm just disappointed the other songs don't play.

Blood of Kingu - Incantation of He Who Sleeps

I'm usually indifferent to vocals in BM, but damn, they are fucking beastly on this album.

And there we are... That was an interesting journey. Hell is Empty... definitely takes the position of favourite at the moment though.

Mountains Of Mars from (1994) Electric Wizard - Electric Wizard (2006 Remaster).
Starting to listen to this band seriously.

I find them to be ridiculously addictive, I started with some of the later albums, only got round to listening to the début last week, but I've listened to it a few times already. My favourite's probably Witchcult Today, of the albums I've heard.

Evocation - Astray Masquerade

Swedeath in a way that worships Like An Ever-Flowing Stream while still having its own identity. I've been sampling the first two albums to see if I want to buy them at the shop tomorrow, and alas, I do.

So you listened to all of them? Nice. Hell is Empty... is a really cool album, which climaxes to that last track that rips you a new one. It's a good album.

Sadus - Swallowed in Black

Excellent thrash metal of the vicious kind. Their debut album was more toxic, but this one has a little more structure to it. For me, it's about one or two songs too long, but overall this is a really great album. First three Sadus albums are top-quality thrash.

Psychotic Waltz - Spiral Tower

I have this sneaking suspicion that this album isn't going to click until its 11th or so listen, and then after that I'll love it forever and ever.

You are exactly correct. When I first got that album, I listened to it, then thought, 'Huh, that was interesting, but I think I missed something. Better listen again just to be safe.' And then I just kept listening to it over and over and over. Now it's one of my favorite albums of all time.

Dio - Sacred Heart

Edit: Be sure to read the lyrics as you're listening, Ecliptik. They're some of the best in all of metal.

Mercyful Fate - A Dangerous Meeting

This is still perhaps the most evil metal album ever. Metal got more extreme, it got bleaker and it got more nihilistic, but it never matched the sinister atmosphere and pure Satanic glee that this album has. A true milestone...plus it has great Maidenesque riffs and a production that is one of my top favorites ever, with that cavernous fiery sound. Hellish and exciting.
