NP: Satanic Warmaster [Behexen / Satanic Warmaster, 2008] - 4. The Burning Eyes of the Werewolf (03:43/05:16) {192 kbp/s}

The idea behind this (acoustic black metal) is amazing

Just listened to some random Slayer songs.

It's been a while. I still like them. Lombardo's drumming still owns.

Edit: Metallica - St. Anger

First listen since I last made fun of the album in maybe 2005. wtf... I'm actually digging this shit nowadays. There are some pretty cool riffs that should have been explored further, and if there were some guitar solos..... Also, I can't help but feel that Lars' trash cans sound pretty tribal. Bottom line: nothing sounds like St. Anger, and I don't think anything should

Total Utfrysning from (2009) Shining - VI - Klagopsalmer.
LOVE this band!

http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Sh ... tabs_notes

Quote:
*The sound clips in the song "Total utfrysning" is taken from a Swedish documentary trilogy by Stefan Jarl called The Mods-Trilogy, a project that spans over a 25 year period.

The first part, "Dom kallar oss mods" (They Call Us Mods), is portraying some teenagers in Stockholm in 1968, that are part of the new movement mods. They are distancing themselves from society, smoking weed and living "the good life".

The second part, from which the sound clips are taken, is called "Ett anständigt liv" (A Respectable Life) from 1979. One of the main characters from the previous film, Kenta, is now an alcoholic, and the other, Stoffe, is using heroin. During the time the film is being recorded, Stoffe dies from a heroin overdose.

The third part was made in 1993, and is called "Det sociala arvet" (The Social Heritage). Here the film makers tries to find out what has become of Kenta's and Stoffe's children.

Interesting...

Woods of Ypres - Modern Life is Architecture

I've been listening to this album a truly ridiculous amount lately.

Hate - Erebos

I've been really enjoying this album and how dynamic it is, especially when compared to the last Behemoth albums. Oh yes, Nergal is getting his ass kicked! :)

I love this album. So atmospheric and dreamlike...

Desultory - Bitterness

ಠ_ಠ

...That about sums it up. The vocals are on the level of annoyingness of Pantera. I don't really feel like even finishing the album. So much for Desultory.

Deicide - To Hell With God - Conviction

This is the best album Deicide have created in so long. I still have it in regular rotation.

Now that's heavy.

Agreed. Good album and I like Hate better than Behemoth. Weird and in the minority, I'm sure, but it is what it is.

Dark Lunacy - Forget Me Not. Good albums, but those vocals aren't great.

Sepultura - Stronger Than Hate

Thrash isn't one of my favorite genres, but I'd be lying if I said this wasn't bitchin'.

I partially agree with you there. Although Behemoth have been pretty boring since Demigod (although that album still had some juice in it) I'm a huge fan of the trio composed of Satanica, Thelema.6 and Zos Kia Cultus. Nothing Hate made is better than any of those, although as I said before Erebos gives a beating to anything Behemoth did after 2002. I'm interested in seeing which route both bands are going to take on their upcoming albums.

PS: I see a lot of excellent choices in this page! :)

Death - Leprosy

Oh my fucking god it's been so long... too long! Nothing gets to me like the real old school death metal classics, and this is one the biggest and best there will ever exist. It's 1988 all over again!

This right here shows that the songs from that album could've been regarded as excellent had the album not sounded like ass. They even got a solo in there!

Absurd - Germanien über alles

The remaster / revised remix makes it sound quite a bit like Grinning Death's Head, how silly is that? The drums, apparently, were recorded anew at least partially; as for the rest, it had a load of reverb slapped on to it. Oh Absurd, how you always fail to impress baffles me.

I'm seeing them later today - Listening to Vanitas in preparation, and possibly a couple more albums if I've got time.

I just got rejected for a job that I was really hoping for and expecting to get. This album seems to be fitting my mood perfectly.
