Diskord - Public Static Void

Great discovery. Like all of Autopsy's weirder moments compressed into a single band.

Venenum - Trance of Death

Good slab of German death metal.

Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill

Now this, THIS fucking rules.

EDIT: Stupid me also just realised that of course, stuff is sampled on this album. I thought the riff in that first song sounded familiar

"When The Jackals Come" - Immolation

There is an inhuman consistency to this band. \m/

Ikarian - A Shrine Of Fire

Cool melodic gothic metal that's pretty laid-back and quite atmospheric. I'm looking forward to their third album that's supposed to be much heavier.

Fate of the Condemned by Dying Fetus

I really don't understand how a lot of people dislike War of Attrition. Sure it's not as memorable as some of their other albums but I'm enjoying it so far.

Deiphago - Human Race Absolute End

I'm going to see these guys this weekend. It's like a homecoming gig for these guys as they are very notorious in the underground Philippine metal scene before migrating to Costa Rica.

Europe- "Days of Rock 'n' Roll".

This song has one of the most upbeat, addictive riffs ever conceived in a rock song. More people need to talk about how great newer Europe is.

Scorpions - No One Like You

Probably my favorite Scorpions song. Super simple riffs with a really memorable chorus is hard to beat.

I just realized that describes a lot of Scorpions songs.

Zhrine - Unortheta

This is some serious intensity, holy crap. The vocals, the riffs, the production, everything works great.

Yeah man, Zhrine is great.

Kaos Sacramentum - Livsbundna Kedjor

One of Ancient Records most under-appreciated bands. Great sense of melody.

Was just talking about Beastie Boys the other day, huh. Licensed to Ill is a treasure. I also love Paul's Boutique.

Flotsam and Jetsam - Doomsday for the Deceiver

Been listening to this a lot lately. Such a killer record.

Great band, I can never play them all the time but they're very good.

Leeches Of Lore - That Old Brain Rapin' Highway

Super cool sludgy, weird guitar sounds.

Ezra Brooks - Target

Old school arcane heavy metal! There's even a Tales of Medusa cover on here, which is beyond cool!

Kiss - Stoned in Paris

Was told this was a really great bootleg of them, so I decided to check it out. These guys had the energy of Steve Prefontaine's moustache. I'm guessing its Ace, but he turns most of the songs into chopped liver. What a slob of a player.

Probably my second favorite next to Paul's Boutique. I feel like Licensed gets shrugged off as their party album or whatever which, yeah that's true because they really brought their A game after but it's still so fucking good. Rick Rubin is all over it but whatever, the samples are tight and the Run DMCish beats are killer. I love that album. I love the way 80s hip hop sounds in general.

The Gates of Slumber - Conqueror

One of the best doom albums of the '00s, if not one of the best ever released.
