Their new album is pretty good, not as good as Set In Stone though.

Listening to some of the stuff I bought in a lot that was the stuff I didn't give a shit about/figured it was shit...

Lowbrow: Sex.Violence. Death. -turned out better than I expected. Kinda sounded like Obituary minus Tardy's vocals. I really expected it to be pure shit but was pleased it wasn't. so that's that's a decent surprise.

now listening..
Legion: Conqueror... expected this to be meh... turns out to be one of those standard mid-tier death metal bands that were in the glut of the mid 90's explosion. It's actually quite enjoyable. though the drum tones they used... god the toms sound like tin boxes they are beating on.

Dax's solo work is fantastic. Bleak, serenading, bluesy stuff. And there's a ton of Jim Morrison in his voice, it's perfectly suited for what he plays.

I don't think he's the only one here. I've seen that name poping up a lot lately. I've just been listening to some songs of Crystal Logic...I think my biggest turn off are the vocals.

NP: Holy Mother - The River

Total ass kicking, ball gripping razor sharp speed metal. Fuck yeah.

Helker - No Chance To Be Reborn, off Somewhere in the Circle

It seems like these guys are going for international attention now, seeing that they have decided to do an entire album in English. I'm perfectly okay with that, as they sound pretty much the same. Diego's pronunciation is quite weird, but beyond that, nothing bad to say about this. The chorus in particular stands out. "Re..... BOOOOOOOOOOOOORN!!!"

Yes! After all that I've read and heard about them, I'm finally getting myself around to listening to this band.

Yup, I agree with you completely. You should check out his other projects as well like Deadboy & the Elephantmen.

Slayer - Evil Has No Boundaries

Now THIS is more like it! Also, I think I have to take back what I said earlier about 'Hell Awaits' edging this album out as my favorite: 'Show No Mercy' is still it. :metal:

Show No Mercy is badass beyond words. I also wish they had kept the type of solos they used in it. Sure, they were still shred fests, but they were also more coherent and interesting. The leads they used later on were perhaps more fitting to the no holds barred thrash assault they became known for, but that doesn't make them any less crappy.

Fuck, you know what? I'm gonna spin SNM now. It's been a long time since I listened to it, and I could use the adrenaline rush :headbang:
