:np: Deicide - The Stench of Redemption

Ooh yeah, this is more like it. Probably their best?... well, that's a tough one. Legion does kick immense ass.

Yeah, I'd say it is their best album. The combination of Santolla's melodic riffs and solos with Deicide's typical blasting style makes it one of my favourite death metal albums. Also, I've said this before, but this is what melodic death metal should sound like as a genre. To this day, I haven't heard anything quite like it.

Ever listen to Dechristianize?

And that is true... but Legion is a more savage and nimble record to these ears, both in structuring and sound.

Sis just got me the first two Kreator albums as a graduation present :hyper:

NP: Kreator - Pleasure to Kill This album just freaking rapes face; around three years ago, I thought it was too heavy. This album has just enough brutality but it is balanced with enough versatility to keep it awesome, unlike another certain album from 1986. I can't get over how it has the peaceful little intro before exploding with fucking ultra fuckness. :headbang: :headbang:

Sojourner - Empires of Ash

Possible album of the year for me. Super epic black metal that captures the feeling of the end of an era. Very somber, nostalgic stuff; way different vibe than pretty much anything else in this microstyle.

I did listen to Dechristianize, but I haven't listened to it more than 2 times. It was over an hour long if I remember correctly.

Yes, Legion is definitely more savage. That record is absolutely mental.

Manowar - Louder Than Hell

I actually like Manowar's older content, but they're not an important band for me. This album feels like it was recorded in the 80's, and it sounds too old to be released in 1996. It's a good album, if I'm being completely honest.

The Ruins Of Beverast - The Desert Lair

Amazing. The crushing, melodic (and dare I say, beautiful) central section of this beast is mesmerizing, and captivating. Genius.

Trespassers William — I Know

fucking amazing. I was expecting something electronic or with reverb from the dream pop/shoegaze tag but there's some strong rythmic acoustic guitar under some beautifully melancholic vocals. Love at first listen :violin:

Are you starting to enjoy the album more now? It has grown on me a lot over the past few months.

I love the crap out of the first three tracks and the last three tracks, some good stuff in the others too. I enjoy it, but "Xenon" and "(L)MIRL" should've been switched for one more heavy song to make it a truly great album. How do you feel about it?

Deftones - Drive

their covers <3

Nice, I've been taking a look into more jazz fusion recently too. Mostly Japanese stuff, since I'm working on a list of favorite Japanese bands. You might like KBB and Side Steps.

I like pretty much every song on the album now, but there are some that I love. "Phantom Bride" is probably one of the best songs the band has written, and I think "Xenon" and "(L)MIRL" are pretty interesting too.

Autumn - 'Altitude'

Very nice goth rock/metal. Energetic, melodic, bouncy, and yet quite depressive.

Hypocrisy- Reincarnation

It's amazing how a lot of the riffs on this album have melody and a real catchiness to them but its still a dark and evil death metal album.

Vital Remains - Forever Underground

Fuck, this is really good. Just the kind of death metal I like. Brutal yet melodic, and the keyboards give it this epic Altars Of Madness vibe. I can see myself listening to this one much more in the future.

Certainly better than the new album. Where'd these sort of choruses go?
