Blood Geometry by Elysian Blaze

This may be my favorite album of 2012 now.

Captain Beefheart - Unconditionally Guaranteed

This may not be as crazy as Trout Mask Replica, but the songs are just plain good. And that's perfectly okay.

Black Sabbath - Megalomania

Best Black Sabbath song out there. I doubt there will be any better on 13.

One of the better songs on Koloss, which I find to be one of Meshuggah's weaker efforts.

Rotting Christ - Theogonia

I kind of forgot how energetic this one is! It's a faster album than the two they followed up with, which is neither here nor there, since those two are still quite good. This band is incapable of releasing a bad album, I'm sure of it. When their weakest album is still good, you know you're doing something right. Theogonia's melodic moments are not as pronounced as other albums, but they're still there, enveloping the album nicely.

Desolate Shrine - Plane of Awake: Dreams over Angel-Serpent Tower

This is fucking smashing. Real-deal death metal with a powerfully raw sound, complemented by a caustic, stifling atmosphere. There is serpentine riffs aplenty, and some hellish, twisted song structures. This eight minute piece is absolutely devastating, a true heaving leviathan of filthy delight.

That artwork looks cool - what band is it? [EDIT: Ah, Horna - cool. Just been getting into them, myself.]

NP: Leviathan - Cut, with the Night into Mine Heart

My first time listening to the second leviathan album; I'd owned the début for over a year, and thought I'd better resume exploring at some point. They're one of those bands for me whom are great, but strangely slow to work my way through.

Third Sabbath album I've played today while finishing up a manuscript for one of my last college classes. Oh yeah.
