Unanimated - The Unconquered One

Furious melodic black/death metal that made me wow. Will definitely explore more from this band.

Friend of mine recently introduced me to them with Control and Resistance. Vocals took quite a while to get accustomed to but oh the guitarwork.

Unanimated - The Endless Beyond

Listening to In the Light of Darkness again hahaha

High pitched wailing certainly isn't for everyone, but it's pretty much a staple of classic prog. Don't forget about the incredible bass and drum work either.

愛狂います。 - 豚の王様「ニトログリセリン」

I have no idea what's going on.

Manilla Road - Crystal Logic

I had the beginning of "Dreams of Eschaton" stuck in my head two weeks ago and couldn't remember where it was from. Can't believe I had forgotten where this great song was from.

Hel - Valkyriors Dom

Love this band. Good folk rock with a lot of punk influence in their sound.

Never heard this band before but I've heard a lot of praise from friends of mine. So far its got nice atmosphere but I just turned it on so we'll see.

Rush - Speed of Love

This album is a staple of the holidays for me. Just has a nostalgic feel and I heard it first around this time...great mellow rock with cool acoustic guitars. And Geddy sounds great.

Gridlink - Constant Autumn

"Technical grindcore" was an interesting label, so I checked them out. I don't know if grindcore is this melodic and light, but the song was good. It's what Vektor would sound like if they were a grindcore band.

I listen through the CD IV by Led Zeppelin and i think it is their best album together with the second album (II)

Gridlink is awesome! Not a grindcore fan at all, but they're something special.

Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus

Can't go wrong with this album.

Nocternity - Harps of the Ancient Temples

One of the year's best albums, for sure. I love that relentless, hypnotic, death march feel.

Intestine Baalism : Anatomy of the Beast

I've never heard this before, only heard the name thrown around rarely.

Fucking heavy, then that section at 3:05, holy shit. Been a while since a death metal song has made me emotional. Now I have to start looking into the Japanese death metal scene. Gonna check out the rest of their work later.

Satyricon - Now, Diabolical - Live at the Opera

I guess this isn't considered to be true black metal or whatever, but it's a really catchy song.

Grave - Out of Respect for the Dead

Ridiculously consistent band. While it's more or less the same style they've always played, the band sounds so energized.
Very good fat riffs and solid drumming, with a wonderful production that lets every instrument shine. Ola's vocals are killer as usual.
Love this album

Blind Guardian - The Holy Grail

Often end up listening to this album a couple times a week at least. Have listened to it countless times by now and still can't get enough of it. Find I frequently get songs like Holy Grail, Twilight of the Gods and At the Edge of Time stuck in my head out of the blue then have to listen to the album. It's a vicious cycle, haha. It may actually be becoming an all-time favourite for me.

^ Yes, yes indeed.

Destroyer - Midnight Meets the Rain

Kinda Tom Waits-ish acoustic pop stuff...cool, atmospheric music.

Ulver - Bergtatt

The explosion sound on the third track always scares the fuck out of me, but still one of my favorite black metal albums. Fantastic melodies and atmosphere, great flow between the soft and heavy parts. Really not much that could have been done differently.

Ilsa: The Felon's Claw

Sounds so fucking good, it's exactly like all their older stuff but maybe a bit slower paced than normal, not doomy but just a slower paced pounding. I love it. No progression at all.

Always loved their guitar solos...sadly their riffs are average at best to me.

NP: Indesinence - Communion

Massive, devouring riff-oriented doom/death. Thanks for the recommendation, Crushed_Revelations! :)

Enjoying this more than expected. I wouldn't mind seeing elements from this reintroduced in the future.

Atlantean Kodex - The Golden Bough

I have to listen to "The Atlantean Kodex" at least three times in a row when I play this album.

Heed to the - Atlantean Kodex
Kneel before - Atlantean Kodex
Bow your head - Atlantean Kodex
Share the madness, the fury and the might

Just found out about these dudes, pretty raw underground stuff.

NP: Darkthrone - Panzerfaust

Not the best old Darkthrone record but still good shit. Really a band that hasn't ever really disappointed me.

Twisted Sister - You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll

I've been listening to this album on constant rotation lately. I've had it for a while and I remember giving it a cursory listen and it not making much of an impression on me. But now I've just fallen in love with it. Every song, those hooks. It's just perfect. Definitely prefer this over Stay Hungry. I have Under the Balde too, but I haven't got around to it yet.
