Up there with Death Rider, The Axeman and Hell's Gates.

Ooh, I'm happy you mentioned "Hell's Gates" because it's my favorite Omen song. I won't say "by far" but almost... I certainly miss J.D. Kimball's vocals.

Don't bother. You're not missing anything. Let's just pretend Omen without Kimball (and the Nightmares EP) doesn't exist.

The first two Omen albums are so amazing, and the third is pretty good too.

Brainstorm - The Conjunction of the 7 Planets

Heavy, epic half ballad...great song.

Dead World - Thanatos Descends
http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Dead_World/Thanatos_Descends/51611

Reasonably horrifying industrial doom, not quite as good as Collusion but still decent.
And I forgot I had the latest Electric Wizard so I'll play that next ha ha

I'm torn the fuck apart by Brutal Truth's "Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses". A far better fusion of Grind and Death Metal than Napalm Death have ever achieved, and that's coming from a huge Napalm Death fan.

Sadus - Illusions

Brutal thrash, with a great, organic production and bass sound. Similar to Morbid Saint and classic German thrash, which is !!!!

Raintime - Turned Up and Down

I miss this band. Never was able to find anything that sounds close to them.

NP: Circuit of Suns [Circuit of Suns, 2015] - 7. Soo G'd Up (02:27/06:14) {257 kbp/s}

Not sure what to make of this. It sounds like prog, death metal, some sort of metalcore/deathcore, and some other stuff all at once. It's not bad but it's all over the place. Also the song titles are blegh

Macabre Omen - Gods of War - At War

This is quite a good album. Really epic in scope and vision and executed brilliantly.

When Gods Leave their Emerald Halls from (2012) Drudkh - Eternal Turn of the Wheel.
Waiting for the new album but I'm in fear they "lost it" with the last ones.

You're a weird weird man Paganbasque. I'm with BasqueStorm on this one.

NP : Acherontas - Ma Ion

I can't get enough of this album. When Greek black metal is done right, there's hardly anything in the genre that surpasses it(imo at least).

Hexenhaus - Dejavoodoo

Fantastic power metal delivered by this Swedish band. They have 4 albums in all, the first 2 are thrash records, the third is power/thrash but this one is strictly power metal and it's my favorite.

Mercyful Fate - A Corpse Without Soul

This EP is pure perfection and this song is the definition of epic metal. :metal:

On a Mercyful Fate kick...

Mercyful Fate - Burn in Hell

(Bragging time. lol) This album will always remind me of sitting in King's living room listening to "9" a month before it was released. This was one of my favorites when I first heard it on a CD-R and it is still one of my favorites from this album.

Well, I think that the last one was better, let me be happpy with my extravagances.

Napalm death- Aversarial-Copulating Snakes

Last album doesnt differ too much from the previous ones, but at least it contains a couple of songs which some innovations.

And what do you think about (2007) Drudkh - Estrangement? Those vocals, drums, guitars, bass,... it's nice!
As stated in the Drudkh thread, I prefer OLD Drudkh.

Solitary Endless Path from (2007) Drudkh - Estrangement.

I don't care for Master because I've never been able to stomach Speckmann's vocals and this is proving to be no exception.

Satyrasis - The Imp of the Perverse

Holy shit I knew this band in 2005 back before I even liked metal more extreme than early Megadeth. Imagine my shock to see a promo from them in my mailbox and then find out that they not only still exist, but have released two full lengths since the demo I knew. Even better, they're still really god damned good. This album kinda falls apart at the end but this track is a fucking scorcher. If you like Deceased's later era, you need to hear this. It's basically the lost sister album to As the Weird Travel On.

(the link is being retarded, the song starts at 16:52)

Their new album is so bad ass. Tony posted a song from ...of the Dead earlier in the most expected albums thread and I was immediately hooked. As soon as I could I grabbed that album and gave it a rave review. I haven't heard their first full length yet but I mean to do that real soon.

I don't think I like how the last few tracks get so strange, it's like they lose the plot and the train just jumps the tracks, but the first seven songs or so completely smoke. Check that first album, I remember ADORING Stench of the Earth and Hourglass ten years ago.

^^What did you think of the Rush cover?

NP: Enslaved - Thurisaz Dreaming

This is my second spin of the new album and it's fucking amazing. So many different styled blended together. Grutle's snarls are actually not as grating as on the last couple.

It was rad.

Yeah listening back to those handful of songs I knew from the demo, I can definitively say that the vocals were WAY worse and the production borders on too rough, but holy crap the riffs still tear shit apart.

EDIT: HO HO WHAT I'M NOT EVEN KIDDING WHEN I SAY I'VE HAD THE MELODY AT 3:28 FLOATING AROUND MY HEAD FOR TEN FUCKING YEARS UNABLE TO REMEMBER WHERE I HEARD IT FROM THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER

According to their Facebook they are trying to crowd fund a vinyl release. Not sure if they will release it on CD.

This type of music doesn't really make sense to me on vinyl, plus they're about $3000 short of their goal. I've always preferred vinyl for black metal, preferably lofi black metal, everything else can be CD. Maybe someday they'll get around to a small CD pressing.

Judas Priest - Genocide

Still my favorite Priest album. Just love the way all these songs flow into one another and create such a unique experience. "Victim of Changes" and "Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver" are fucking amazing as always. Halford's vocal performance is definitely one of the best in metal, too.
