Kriegsmaschine - Altered States of Divinity

This is the second time I'm listening to Kriegsmaschine, and it is much better than I remembered.

Streaming the new Aksumite - Rubber Room, ordered my copy the other day. On track two, reading the ridiculously over the top lyrics. Strange clean vocals, did not expect that. Hard as fuck though.

Composition is not bad, but i think vocals are very weak in that song.

Wardruna - Bjarkan

I love both albums of Wardruna, especially "Runaljod - gap var Ginnunga". This is one of my fav songs from them.

From the Throne of Hate is one of my favourite albums from Elffor. This one and Unblessed Woods are the best, more keyboard oriented and with a great medieval touch.

Wardruna are awesome, a truly unique band!

Mirkwood-Victorious Return

Great song!

I like the vocals in this one, actually. That whole album has some dreamy atmosphere.

I totally expected Dystopia to suck but so far it's excellent!

It sure is! Hasn't lost its shine after a number of listens now.

Kreator - Outcast

Just bought it,sounds pretty good

Outcast is perhaps my least favourite of Kreator's mid-era experimentation, but it still has its moments. I tend to go for Renewal or Endorama.

Cerebric Turmoil - Neural Net Meltdown

Very strange tech/brutal death which seems to go all over the place with even stranger vocals. I like it, though, as it gives it its own personality.

I feel a "I have listened to something like this before and it was BETTER" vibe.

I remember when (2000) Deftones - White Pony came out. We were like "WTF is this?!?". Shortly, it was our favourite music for driving back home on weekends. Amazing!

Cenotaph from (1991) Bolt Thrower - War Master.

That's my overall reaction to most of their material. Just feels like their motionlessly floating through the dynamics and music styles, everything comes so natural.

NP: Mechina [The Assembly of Tyrants, 2005] - 2/10. Reclamation of Mortal Nature (01:08/04:09) {207 kbp/s}
It's weird hearing Mechina do more straightforward death metal after hearing their more grandiose later stuff, whoa

Indeed. It was my first Summoning album and I'm still partial to it as well as Nightshade Forests.

Metallica - Master of Puppets

Honestly one of the only thrash bands I care about going back to very often these days. Should definitely dig out some old underground favorites like Sabbat and Rigor Mortis sometime though.

My first metal album! No matter how often I play it, no matter how far I move from thrash in general, Master of Puppets is always there. A great album.

Fear of Tomorrow (1985)
Yeah fuck it, I’ve decided. I think this is my favourite Thrash album period.

Deftones - Prayers/Triangles

I don't know a lot about Deftones, but everything I've heard from them was gold, just like this new single. The song is very light and dreamy, but I'm sure the album will have more heavy riffs.

In honour of my 420th post, I decided to listen to some stoner metal. Yeah, I don't think this shit is for me. I don't miss my pot-smoking days.

Alcest - Ecailles de lune Part 1

The BBC live EP version. Somehow tuning it down made it a LOT darker and bleaker, especially when it goes black metal at the end. Like Altar of Plagues covering Alcest.

I see what you're saying, since Endorama still has bits and pieces of thrash floating around, but I think it works when you look at it in a rock sense, not a metal sense. You can see they still sometimes wanted to bring out the thrash, but the scene at the time stopped them.

Hate Eternal - Infernus

My first listen of this. Not too bad so far. None of the riffs have really grabbed me at the moment, but I would imagine this needs more than one listen. :)
