This is pretty wild. I'm digging it. Standoffish and unique.

I love the "broken violin" part in the middle. There's some footage of the band in '98 playing this song live at Whisky A Go-Go floating around on YT, and they pull this off live without the violin surprisingly well.

BATHORY - Born for Burning

Man, that first riff has to be one of the best Quorthon ever penned. So fucking savage and evil! And very fun to play on guitar. :nods:

"Aprés Nous De Dèluge" -
Raison d'être

This draws tons influence from Current 93's "Nature Unveiled," especially considering the haunting sounding church music and Industrial sounds hidden behind layers of synthesizers.

It's a legit great album, Dethalbum III.

For a fake band, they kick ass pretty hard. Partially responsible for getting me into melodeath.

Gardenian- Heartless

New stuff to me, but I really like how the words and music conflict. The music comes off as accepting and kind of grudgingly happy, while the words are so negative. Like a metallized version of gothic country or something.

Buried At Sea: Migration

it's been awhile since I've gave it a solid listen.

And it helps when I've been looking through a Sunn Forum at everyone's monster rigs. basically gear porn.

I have to do a pic but I probably have to pull everything outside for me to get everything in the shot.

Watain - "Death's Cold Dark"

I'm not a giant black metal fan, but this is very good in my opinion. I love these riffs.

Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats - 13 Candles

One of the coolest modern psych/stoner metal bands that I've heard

Dystopia - Hands that Mold

This EP is not good for one's mental health. It's one of the most unrelentingly hateful things I've heard in a long time, and even though I've listened to it quite a bit it doesn't get any easier to listen to (I mean that with the utmost of compliments to the band).

Death - EVALLLLLLLLLLLL DEAD! from Scream Bloody Gore, 1987.

This is probably my favorite Death song beside 'Primitive Ways'. Early Death makes me want to die!

Manipulator - Voyage

Absolutely one the best death metal EP's in the last ten years for mine. Decrepit, obfuscated and morbid.

Auvernia - We Are Complete

Very melodic and progressive power/death metal with a very nicely done instrumental part in the middle. This band is from Argentina. Interesting stuff.

Bolt Thrower - Embers

I've been meaning to revisit a few Bolt Thrower albums other than Those Once Loyal, which I listen to most. Today seems to be the day.

Keep listening to Gorguts' new one "An Ocean Of Wisdom." I was so worried that this was just going to sound like Dysrhythmia when I learned it was Kevin and Colin, but holy shit this is the greatest thing in a long time.

Smargl - Credo Flaming Rain

The song has Nera from Darzamat as a guest singer. Something tells me that this band would not have a whole lot of clean singing outside of a song like this.

Spoiler: show

:-D My childhood. But disregarding nostalgia, this is seriously good music.

In a perfect world these ambient tracks would take a bit more time to develop, but 90s gamer kids weren't known for having a super long attention span and filesizes were limited.

Mold - Cremated Alive

This demo sounds like its straight out of early 90's Finland. Evil sounding riffs, very fast drumming and tight growls.

My childhood too! :D And that it is. Did you play Donkey Kong Country 2? Remember this guy?

I haven't played this game in years, but this song still gives me the same epic 'shit's just gotten real' feeling I had when I was a kid.

The Sonora Pine - II

Very calming and relaxing record. Tara's voice is haunting but comforting at the same time. One of my favorite female singers.

Megadeth - The Conjuring

Interesting enough, I'm on my way to Red Lobster, and to see the new movie "The Conjuring". Probably going to be another cheesy ass new age horror flick, but we'll see.

The third one is quite different from the first two. More of an open-explore map than the more linear gameplay of its predecessors.
