Angeles Del Infierno - Fuera De La Lay

Their sophmore album is seriously one of the best heavy metal albums that came out of 80's. Under appreciated classic to be sure.

This is quite possibly the heaviest thing I've heard all year...looking forward to the new album.

Benediction - Deadfall.

Aside from the one-off burst of rap, which took me by surprise, Grind Bastard as a whole might well be one of my favorite death-metal albums.

Benediction is fairly overlooked when discussing OSDM, but I don't know why. They've made some great albums like the aforementioned Grind Bastard.

Inanimate Existence - Liberation Through Hearing

Pretty cool modern brutal tech-death that nobody but me seems to enjoy. I'm not sure about the ending instrumentals, though, but I'll have to give it more of a listen.

Aborted - Grime

Global Flatline is one of those albums that I simply cannot get tired of, no matter how often I listen to it. Every song is awesome.

November Grief - Evil-ution demo. This all female band... hell. They sound amazing. Ity sounds more like death doom than death metal as MA says.

Katatonia - The Racing Heart, off Dead End Kings

It's been a long time since I listened to Katatonia, and curiosity led me to check out their last album. It doesn't stray too far away from their last string of records, but it has this..... Je ne sais pas, that somehow makes it sound more interesting. I'll keep listening to it as, judging from the comments in the most recent thread dedicated to them, DEK seems to be a grower.

Novembers Doom - In Faith

Dark and doomy, and while I like it, it feels...off. Like, I probably won't remember it as soon as it's done.

I REALLY enjoyed this last year's Hellfest show by them. I was our first show of the weekend and was PERFECT for setting the mood for the festival!

Novembers Doom - Leaving This

At times, it feels like they just drop the death metal trappings like a bad habit. This song is an example.

I figured I'd treat myself after a long day of work, to a beer and an AN album. This sounds fuckin' savage as hell so far.

Yeah this is awesome, man. I expected this to sound like a more one dimensional version of ...Black Widow, without the clean vocals and melody and whatnot, but the songwriting on this actually sounds more dynamic. Kudos to them for one-upping my expectations.

The death metal version of bubblegum pop. Short, sweet and fun while it lasts.

Didn't think you'd like something like that Emp, not to pigeonhole you or anything ;) Cool to see that you do. Probably one of my favorite albums ever.

Blut Aus Nord- 777-Sect(s)

Definitely the best of the 777 trilogy musically. The other two albums are just as important conceptually, however, and are great albums in their own right.

I have to agree here. One of my highlights of 2012.

Al-Namrood - Kitab Al Awthan

Speaking of 2012 highlights, this is another. Great Middle-Eastern influenced black metal with an occasional wall-of sound going on that gives the album flair and heaviness without playing at light speeds. This band just gets better, in my opinion.
