It is disrespectful to pause an Alice In Chains album. You shall be executed for that!

All in the name of widening my musical horizons, MoT. ;)

Life of Agony - 'Friday'

Fucking hell.

LOL, just go back to Alice In Chains, man. This "Life Of Agony" band must sound agonizing (who would've thought?). :-D

Kreator - Pleasure To Kill

I'm still not a big fan of this album, and probably won't love it as much as many others do. It's still a good album that's brutal as hell, but it's kind of a hot mess. I'd much rather listen to Sodom for the sheer savagery.

I already finished the AiC album, and actually Life of Agony's debut is very very good. The 'Fucking Hell' is out of shock.

The greatness of Sodom makes me want to cry. Thrash would never be the same without Sodom.

I can tell that with the handle Master of Thrash that you must have a very open mind and a broad taste in music my friend! Thrash or die! All this after I spent a good 10 minutes of my day sharing my thoughts on an album I think is really good too. If you don't like anything other than thrash then why make a blanket statement about something you've never heard. It makes you sound like a 16 year old.

@MoT - Damn right!
@Deathwish - Well come on now, it's hardly fair to make judgements on one's taste based on their name! Judging by my username, you'd think I only listen to blackened wargrind or something, which as you can probably tell is far from the case. :P

:hail: Sodom - Obsessed By Cruelty

Yet another masterpiece of black stinking metal. \m/

I'm confused though, didn't you just post yesterday that you really enjoyed River Runs Red? Now you don't like it all of a sudden?

Excellent sludge/groove/crossover/alternative metal from the NYHC camp. Something of an underground classic, as best as I can tell.

Ah, ok. My bad dude. I'm not pointing this at you Napalm but the reason I hardly ever post here is because there seems to be a lot of young ins on this board. It's either some of them are very immature or I'm just getting old and can't relate. Maybe a bit of both!

@Master_Of_Thrash and Napalm_Satan
Speaking of Sodom, I've been listening to them a LOT lately. I think it's safe to say that I really dig them now. Tapping the Vein is insanely good, and as of now it's my favorite album from them. I'm going to start digging in to Persecution Mania next!

@Deathwish - Assuming you are referring to his judgement on Life of Agony, I believe he formed that opinion based on my description of their two massively inferior albums and extrapolated to include their first (based on the fact that he said 'sounds like agony'.) An understandable and commonly made error.

@sc - Keep on digging in dude. Everything they did from In the Sign of Evil, a piece of nasty first wave blackened thrash up to Get What You Deserve, a punk/thrash forgotten gem, is ace. :headbang:

Uh, no, you are 110% wrong about my musical tastes, and my username is not a sufficient indicator of my tastes. Also, what on earth is that second last sentence supposed to mean? Do you know how many times I've listened to Pleasure To Kill? Probably not, and you making such an assumption about what I like and dislike makes YOU look like an ignorant 16 year old ass. Maybe you should take a look at my collection (which isn't huge and impressive) first before you come and make sweeping comments like that.

sc2112, hopefully you will find that everything Sodom has done ranges from very good to absolutely legendary. Persecution Mania was my favourite from them for a long time, but now I don't really have a favourite because they have too many excellent albums.

I wasn't shitting on them. It was just a sarcastic comment. N_S said "fucking hell", which I thought was him saying that he didn't like the song, but he clarified it like an adult. Unlike you, he didn't seem to get worked up over it...

Immortal - Blizzard Beasts

Totally underrated. Super cold, furious, fast-as-hell deathened black metal.

Skyforest - Unity

Achingly beautiful atmo/post-bm from Russia. Super saccharine but in the best possible way.

Sonata Arctica - The Ruins of My Life

This whole album is meticulously constructed and detailed. I love the immersive, almost suffocating wintry atmosphere. Tony Kakko is a grade A vocal line and melody writer too.

Yeah, this one's cool. Haven't listened to Immortal in ages but I like this one a lot.

Misery Index - Discordia

I'm usually putting on Traitors or Heirs to Thievery when listening to Misery Index, but this one is nice, too. Plenty of furious action here.

You can absolutely see how a band like Gojira came to be after listening to a song like this.

Hi there Ozzy. Heavy music and heavier lyrics to boot, goddamn.

Morbid Angel - Covenant

One of the greatest death metal bands to ever walk this planet. My favourite track has to be "Angel Of Disease", even though it's a full on thrash metal song.

Metal Church - It Waits

After the borefest of Generation Nothing, I'm pleasantly surprised how the new Metal Church album came out. They'll never top the early '90s stuff but it's just as good as This Present Wasteland, and Mike Howe is much better than Ronny "Bruce Dickin-Steen" Munroe.

Enjoying Rannoch's discography, currently on 'Will to Power'.

Fairly engrossing metal that's stands out to me, Between Two Worlds is a prime choice cut to start with.

Ten times yes! one of my favorites ever, and probably the ultimate soundtrack for the cities at night! :)

Cryptopsy - Dead and Dripping

The riffs here manage to be not only punishing, but even menacing and unsettling like the excellent lyrics. Masterpiece!

I found XI to be really dull. I'm not familiar with those 00's Metal Church albums but doubt those are any better.

NP: Sorcerer - The Dark Tower of the Sorcerer

Pretty quality majestic doom metal. The vocalist sound so much like Tony Martin it's scary.

time for some riff overload to finish off this workday <3
