Jim Matheos - Metaphysical Soup

How come this man's solo albums never get mentioned? 'Away with Words' is pretty good, but 'First Impressions' is a masterpiece. This is seriously some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. Even if it were just 'Remembering Rain' nine times, it would be perfect.

Metallica - Blackened

I've loved this riff since forever.

Rush ~ Working Man

Been broke all this week, finally got paid today, and called my man and pulled out my bowl.
First time I've done it this week. This song just fit the mood right. It may not be metal but little known fact is I'm a total rush geek, Honestly They are probably my favorite band. It's really a toss up between them and Darkthrone. Weird combo I know but they both just make the best music to me, and their songs just hit me perfectly. They may be big bands but I don't care.

The Abscess/Bonesaw split. It's death metal done right - not pretentious, technical or overproduced, just fucking good riffs with a production that is filthy but not suffocating. Obviously FFO Autopsy.

Dawn - The Knell And The World

Stunning, stunning album, and it has shocked me just how much the digi-pack version of this album goes for these days. Cost me no more than twenty bucks back in the day.

Sabbat (Jap)-Evoke the Evil

Great music, weak vocals though.

Gargoyle - Tell Me True

I've listened to the first three Gargoyle albums a collective 12 times today.

I regret nothing.

Opeth - Bleak

Seems I'm returning to Opeth after a few months break. Probably gonna watch the Royal Albert Hall DVD today, that thing is bloody amazing.

Underrated record. It has been pretty much all King Diamond and Immortal at my house this weekend.

Mütiilation - Magical shadows of a tragic past.

I'm not too big a fan of this band, but this song is among the best of '90s BM. Without a magical shadow of doubt.

Demon Eye - Hecate from their ep.

This is pretty good Sabbath worship doom. Nothing new to offer but quite enjoyable.

Tad Morose - Mother Shipton's Words

Killer US-style power/thrash a la old Helstar or Vicious Rumors. These guys could really rip when they wanted to.
