Aeon - Forgiveness Denied

My near-constand play of Aeons Black has prompted me to re-visit some older stuff. Damn this crushes.

Rotting Christ - Cold Colours, off Sleep of the Angels

This can hardly be called black metal, and I love it!

Carcass-Buried Dreams. Maybe I don't listen to enough melodeath, but for an album that's considered one of the most essential in the genre, it doesn't sound too much like most melodeath I've heard. Way less melodic and more thrashy.

Totenmond - "Mutterliebe" - Väterchen Frost

From deep within the German borders, Totenmond! Hehe, a bad ass punky death metal band. Very unique stuff.

Good on you man, rarely see Tottenmond mentioned on here. Very good and unique band.

Yes, musically they are one of a kind. I love how they seamlessly can infuse old style hardcore punk, extreme metal and doom metal into one coherent experience (kind of like Carnivore). Plus they manage to fit in progressive influences too. It's just too bad I don't speak a lick of German, otherwise my Totenmond experience would be even more enriched. Dammit...

Dio - The Last in Line, off the album of the same name

"We are coming..... HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!!!"

This man had the roar of a lion and the presence of a king.

That's probably his second best song. Just beat by ''All the Fools Sailed Away''.

NP: Anthem - Voice of Thunderstorm

Man, this still fucking rips. Best Anthem song I've heard so far. High octane speed metal that makes ''Fast as Shark'' sound like ''Paranoid''. :headbang:

Celebratrum - The Dark, Sick and Distorted

Pretty good example for tremolo picking!

Tarot - I Rule

Awesome. The vitriolic vocals and insane lyrics really sell this whole album. The great guitar work is just icing on the cake.

Sinister - Cross The Styx - Compulsory Resignation

This song takes off with some blistering thrashy riffs that explode into some death metal tremolo picking underneath the verse. Just ferocious through and through.

Abnormality - Fabrication Of The Enemy

This is really good. Technical/Brutal Death Metal thats riff oriented. Sounds in the vein of Cryptopsy but with more meaty riffs that stick out similar to maybe later Deicide(?). Even had an old school slow death metal break down in there. I might just have to pick this up.

Kalpa - The Path Of The Eternal Years

Really good South Korean black metal. Reminds me of Burzum and early-Dimmu Borgir having some sort of musical baby.

Abnormality - Fabrication of the Enemy

This may well be a turning point for me. I'm actually enjoying technical/brutal death metal.

Depeche Mode - The Policy of Truth, off Violator

I always have a whale of a time singing along to Depeche Mode's music. Plus, their songs are just so. Damn. Sexy.

Excellent choice, excellent album. Completely flawless in my eyes.

Cultes des Ghoules - Spectres Over Transylvania

Damn this is pretty awesome really. Much better than I expected.

John Grant - Queen Denmark. Brutally honest album with zero bad songs. An instant classic.
