Vintersorg - Solens Rötter

Possibly my favorite V album, though it's quite hard to pick.

Nevermore - The Seven Tongues of God

Been a little while. This album and the next two are still great.

All of the albums by this band amaze me but this is one of my favorites. Mike Wead's solos are just incredible.

I'm more into the first album and Awakening, but yeah Wead is always great.

Blut Aus Nord - Memoria Vetusta II

Really good black metal. It's BAN, what else could it be?

Visigoth - Vengeance

When I listen to these guys I want time to fast forward a few years just to give them enough time to produce another fucking ridiculously brilliant album like this. I need more Visigoth full-lengths in my life...also they need to tour up here. Seriously, like I need to listen to the album ten times straight every time I dare put it in the player. Fuckin' hell :headbang:

Edguy - Wake Up Dreaming Black

Total kickassery - one of their best songs ever. Loved it since I first heard it.

Grave Digger — Pendragon

Not listened to much of albums like Excalibur and The Last Supper

That album is fucking phenomenal, easily one of my favourites of all time. Word has it that a new album is in the works and will be coming out next year. I cannot wait!

Solstice - I Am the Hunter

I yearn for the day that the new Solstice album finally comes out, this stuff is so goddamn good.

Using the suffix "ery" after either kickass or badass is basically putting a stamp on it saying I'd like it... I'm gunna go listen.

I'm so ready for more Visigoth. I think they mentioned on Facebook at some point that they were aiming to keep it down to single-LP length, too, which I think would be a boon to them. At any rate, I really just want to see them live - I was out of the country the last (and I think it may have been the first) time they came to Philly, and I think they'd put on a kickass show.

They are fantastic live, dude. I've seen them 5 times now, and I've never been disappointed. They're definitely the best band going right now.

Nasty Savage - Distorted Lunatic

One of the most underrated bands of the 80s. These riffs are ridiculously out there for early 1987, super groovy and angular in one.

Sabaton - The Carolean's Prayer

Into battle, walk in a line
See the white in their eyes
Carolean's are marching on!

Sielunvihollinen - Hautaruhtinas

Finnish black majesty, with considerably above-average punkiness. Digging this a lot so far.

Warrant - The Enforcer

I missed out on this album, mistaking them for the American Warrant. Then I found out that this was a completely different band that plays speed metal. LOVE this stuff.

Awesome band. Its a pity that the band members decided to end this project in order to make more standarized metal.

Cancer-To the Gory End

Fucking great old school death metal. Its all about riffs!!!

Brainstorm - The Leading

Killer power metal - great fiery leads, stomping riff and an instantly hooky chorus.

Blind Guardian - Tales from the Twilight World

The threshold between their older material and their truly classic run. I give it a spin every now and then, though I often prefer listening to later live renditions of these since Hansi's voice, which is among the weaker links on the original, is in top form on albums like Live.

"Traveler in Time" and "Lost in the Twilight Hall" are indisputable classics though.

Right on, man! Glad to see some love for Hypocrisy. Not your typical Swedish melodeath band. It took me a long time to finally try them, too. But it was worth it in the end. Check out A Taste Of Extreme Divinity next.

S.V.E.S.T. - Urfaust

the production and guitar tone on this define what black metal should be.

Svffer - Venom

Super intense grindcore. The way the bass and guitars combine to make a wall of sound is just fantastic.

I'm listening to Penetralia at the moment. There's nothing melodeath about this album, but it's their best.

Theocracy - The Wonder of it All

New album just arrived. And uhh, holy SHIT thrash Theocracy is BACK. This song just totally rips right out of the gate. Paper Tiger was a nice speedy number too. The bar is set very high with these first three songs.

Obsession - Scarred For Life

I honestly didn't know much of these guys, but I ordered a 3-set of patches online because I wanted an Armored Saint patch, and I decided I should check these guys out. I'm kicking myself in the ass for not discovering these guys sooner. Another underrated gem in a cesspool of great 80's bands.

I should play it more probably. I do like it even though I think they have better albums.

Dynazty - The Human Paradox

I'll probably end up buying this soon.

^That's the only album I've heard from them, but I thought it was amazing. Really good stuff.

@empyreal I agree. I actually listen to the S trilogy more often than that one. I think Defenders gets more plays too.
