^ That's the spirit. I'm planning a jacket, and I will shamelessly use stick pins because whip stitching one-handed is fucking harder than pockets, and if anything isn't square I'll have to start all the fuck over. fuck.

Anyone know where I might find a Winterfylleth patch if one exists?

Got my backpatch in today, which is awesome cause I only just ordered it Saturday. Also started getting an idea of where I want some of my other patches. Nothing is sewn on just yet, but I'm hoping to start soon, just want to get some more patches first.

EDIT: Put this Ghost patch on a little while ago on the front:

I think so. It's pretty sweet, either way. One of my favorite patches, and I've got an extra one as well.

Sorry, I just assumed, since it seems like the vest-accessorizing sub-community of the metal world is such an inexplicable sausage fest.

I disagree, the_raytownian. At gigs and even in this thread, the percentage of females with vests seems far greater than in the general metalhead population.

It's more the case in Europe. I know some women with cool kuttes but they're a minority. Girls with kuttes: sexxxxxxxxxxy!

It's okay. :) Statiscally speaking there was probably a higher chance of me being male, so it's okay you assumed.

Go tell my mother that. ;) She thinks my vest is awful and generally unflattering. Oh, and tell one of my friends too. When she heard of my plans of making one, she blurted out, "Oh no, the only girls who wear those are ugly, butch, German girls at Wacken."

Really not sure why they're sideways. Even tried to rotate them with an image manipulator, but apparently they were just determined to give the finger to the system or something. But there it is.

Lost Wisdom: Just a word of warning. Those patches, except the Venom one, will fade as soon as you put that jacket in the wash. Take heed.

Pretty sure you aren't supposed to put battle jackets/vests in the wash anyways...

http://www.t-shirtzone.co.uk/ actually! They've got a lot of shitty core and unmetal bands, but then there's merch with Cro Mags, Vektor and Avulsed. Weird mix, but they've got a ton of patches!

The collar on mine rides too high up and presses against the back of my neck too hard. I get a stiff neck the day after wearing mine. I'm thinking of removing the collar by cutting about 1/4" down from the seam all the way around and folding over by about 1/8" and sewing a hem. Thoughts? Any pics of someone who has done something similar?

Not entirely sure what you mean, but I've seen a lot of people who've removed the collar from the vests. Mostly people who wear them over their leather jackets or something, but others too.

German and Dutch kutten often have the collars removed for the reason stated above (wearing over leather), but also so the entire vest can be covered in patches more easily and so they are all visible.

I haven't worn shorts in about a decade due to my skinny ass legs but I love these.

I'm going to do the back side too, so far I just have Effigy on there.

Dude, that shop is awesome. I've been there a few times when visiting Lancaster, they've got a great selection of music and patches/shirts, especially when it comes to punk.

The website is run by the store, they've got stuff out in the store but also have a big warehouse/attic space of some sort where they have a lot of stuff for mail order. And it's in the US, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (probably should have clarified that haha).

Sweet man, do you have a list of the patches? I just got 2 new ones yesterday (Kylesa and Blood Ceremony + 1 a Kylesa pin), I'll also make a new vest soon, it's gonna be classy!

I've started working on a new vest too! (my first actually) I'm printing a lot of the patches myself since I can't find the ones I want anywhere. Will post pictures when I get it all together.

This is sort of off-topic since they aren't a metal band, but does anyone know if there has ever existed, on planet earth, a Sparks band patch?

"Sparks" is such a hard term to search, especially when looking for a "sparks patch". eBay and Google were both busts for me...
I'm not looking to have custom patches done right now, so I'm really hoping there's a batch of embroidered Sparks patches floating around somewhere.

Thanks.

PS: I fucking need this

RE: Over-Zone.

for custom patches, must you really order a minimum of 5 each, or have they removed an option for one-off custom patches? :(
I can't find anything on the site about ordering several "one-off" versions of different designs, which is really what I was hoping for.

Even if I can re-sell the duplicates, I just don't expect to be able to recoup my money that quickly + I don't really "do" online selling... :/

Any alternatives out there for independent companies that will make custom, one-off copies of multiple designs?

Thanks.

I can't thank you enough for introducing me the Sparks. I just found out that I've heard them before from the amazing Rad soundtrack (Music You Can Dance To) but that song doesn't even compare to the other stuff I've heard so far.

I would be very into it, and have wanted to do it a long time, but I just haven't the time/patience/resources to do my own screen-printing.

I planned to build a PVC screen-burning station for ages, but then I just got sick of never having the shit I needed together and lost interest all together.

Also, I have "dreamed" about getting custom patches thru Over-Zone for so long, my imagination's kind of spoiled me to where I'd really much prefer embroidered ones.

thrashmaniac87:
Hey, it was an accident, I swear! Glad my post unintentionally re-introduced you to one of THE BEST BANDS EVER all the same.

It's actually way way easier than you might think to print your own. Just buy a stretched screen (or make one if you want so save money) some speedball photo emulsion and sensitizer, a 150 watt bulb with a pie pan reflector on a socket that can take 150 watts, a piece of glass that fits in the frame, your ink, your fabric, and a squeegee. just print transparencies of the patches you want to make and find some instructions on how to expose the screen. (I can explain it if you want) You definitely do not need to build any kind of station or setup for exposing the screen, i literally just have the bulb clipped to a metal ruler suspended between 2 shelves with the screen on my floor. Its pretty fun too, and satisfying cause its so easy to get good results. Here's an Arsaidh patch I printed the other day:
