So as the topic states
If you were to make a movie, and have metal songs as the soundtrack.
What would the type of movie and the plot be?
What songs would be included in the movie?

post some of the ideas you've got. :hail:

I'll go the easy route and just say horror with Diabolical Masquerade's Death's Design as the entire sound track ;D.

It would be "Last Action Hero" or a movie that is similar to it.

It would be a fantasy-action movie with a modern setting with loads of allusions towards metal artists, songs, and events.

A gay porn movie with black metal as a theme , I'll use some of Gaahl's Gorgoroth songs as OST.

i've always wanted to make a movie about a sexual deviant who lives in a fantasy but in reality is just a pitiful puny mess...but in his mind he's a porno GOD. (a friend and i wrote a script/partial screen play maybe one day i'll do this)

theres a few sleazy songs i'd love to have, the title credits would be WOMB-Bound/Fucked and a theme throughout the movie would be the Outro
the rest of the demo could be used but these would be more prominent. Also Abscess in the grossout punky trash era-as well as some select tunes from EatMyFuk. Toss in some early Pungent Stench as well and we have a winner.

No real surprise there.

I'd make a movie based on Grave Digger's Rheingold, because that on all counts would just rule.

Y'know, I've been playing around with this story for the past month or so, and while it's not really a movie, it carries the same basic principles, no? At the very least I could pretend it was to be adapted into a movie.

There's this college-aged guy living with his crippled father downtown in a fictional metropolis. The story starts by presenting the quality of life this guy and his father have; how the guy has to juggle between college classes and a bare bones job at a local corner store while at the same time functioning as a typical college student. What I personally like, and what most stories tend to skimp on, is the attention to technological detail. This guy does things you'd expect the usual eighteen / nineteen year old unsociable male to do: Torrents, music(Metal, ranging in all genres), walks in the city, extensive computer use, the works.

The city itself is perhaps a bit unrealistic; featuring both a dystopic setting greater than what would classify as the norm and a size greater than New York City itself. I was going for more of a Gotham-like approach, in terms of degree of decay and depression, but not without a glamorous side.

Anyway, the soundtrack would be similar to my metal collection. Bands I had in mind include Wyrd, Darkthrone, Darkspace, Amon Amarth, Therion, Epica, Death, Thergothon, Emperor, Ceremonial Castings. Basically, you'd be hearing whatever this guy had on at the time as the soundtrack, and with a music collection spanning around thirty gigs I imagine the possibilities to be near infinite.

Probably not that appealing to everyone, but what is?

As for story lines, I quite like what Death of Millions came up with:

Quote:
METAL SIDE: What were the topics of your lyrics?

DEATH OF MILLIONS: A lot of gore a la old cannibal corpse and the like, but with a definate comic book feel to it. Those songs are an almost campy look at the most brutal aspects of we, the disease of this planet, and what our sick minds come up with to do to each other. The rest of the songs were based on the 'Kadilean' story line that Chuck invented. He would be able to explain this better, but the Kadilean is a race of people who are led by mystics who draw power from a book. These mystics have many enemies, and after a Kadilean society is erected and the enemies come, the Mystics simply abandon those who have come to depend on them by escaping through portals created by the book. The songs we have are based upon those who saw an end to them and their cowardly ways. Chuck has a tendency to be quite cryptic in the later works, so this may not be that clear by the lyrics. We intend to explain the lore in an insert if the album ever gets released.

Of course, I'd twist it to be a more obvious allegory for major world religions, probably setting it in modern america, a few years from now when the dollar has collapsed and civil unrest is occurring.

Although after watching the Scorpion King, the thought of putting screechy wah-wah metal into a movie soundtrack makes me ill. I'd rather use more dense, atmospheric stuff like Godflesh, The Angelic Process, and Khanate.

I always thought of making a silent movie about the end of the world using Burzums Filosofem (mostly Rundgang Um Die Transzendentale Säule Der Singularität) and Hliðskjálf would be really firggen cool. But all the music I would use would be his ambient material.

I'd make a movie about the inner black metal circle using the black metal and death metal being produced at the time.

This is an especially awesome topic. I'm a composer with metal as my #1 and score music as my #2 and I do a little creative writing, some of which I will convert into screenplays. If the music is supposed to do what it usually does in a movie it'd have to be pretty fucking intense, to the point of being cheesy, and ideally self-aware in that regard.

For a setting I'd take the most badass violence cliche's and intertwine em: post-apocalyptic world with technology-driven humans vs magic-driven humans, an AI nation (terminators basically), aliens invading, terrestrial monters (fantasy style), intergalactic and/or interdimensional monsters (like demons an' shit). There'd be zombies too... maybe dinosaurs... maybe even zombie dinosaurs or zombies riding dinosaurs.

For plot I'd kick things off immersion-style. The perspective character would keep getting involved in crazier and crazier shit from all the crazy shit that's just constantly going on around. Supporting characters and explanations of the setting would be introduced (and killed) at will; to keep the main character adequately prepared and make the explanations sensible I'd probably have the main character suffering memory loss. As things heat up they'd remember more and more.

In terms of visuals, I'd basically let some psycho anime artist storyboard things and then have a really good cg team work with the director and storyboarder to figure out how to do it all.

The soundtrack would have scenes spanning the breadth of metal's docket to do things with. I'm gettin' excited just thinkin' about it...

Yeh, well I've always thought of making a movie.
Basically, you know all those movies where the terror happens in the forest ? Well yeah, I'de use that as a setting. The killers would have to be some black metalheads dressed in their black metal clothes with corpse paint and holding their usual sticks and bones. Well, actually I'de have to give them something that can kill, so each would have brutal flails. In case of emergency, they can always use their sharp spiked leather armbands to throw forearm blows on the victims.
The script, mmmm , besides the "I'm coming to get thou" lines and such, there should be constant "Arghhh Arghhh" screams especially in the chasing scenes. Ofcourse, the outcome of every chase would have to be bestial assraping, and massive amount of naked women being helplessly caught and sodomized, killed and sodomized ( and then wait for the death metal comrades to come and eviscerate the remnants of the barbarously tortured necrocorpses)

The soundtracks, yes, you guessed it, black metal, but not the Burzum kind of black metal, more like Under the Sign of Hell black metal, some marduk, and some australian black war metal and evil, obscene black/thrash metal, Anal Vomit's Demoniac Flagellations would work great in the assraping scenes. Victory scenes would be included as well. The Sodomic Black metallers would return to their kvlt caves where they would be greeted by their nasty horny women by some black metal belly dancing under the sounds of Melechesh's Sphynx.

Yeah, the script might be a bit weak, but you know, we like to keep it minimalistic. Also, we would avoid special effects to make the movie as grim and tr00 as possible. Also, no cliches spare the "I'm coming to get thou" lines. Result : The most original generic movie ever.

It would be a movie about Valerio Evangelisti's cyberpunk book "Metallo Urlante" (screaming metal) which is insipired itself by metal (there are many connections to Venom, Sepultura, Metallica).

I'd make a sci-fi horror flick in the vein of the video game Dead space. You know, lots of running around on an abandoned speceship that doesn't really work, while avoiding crazy mutant alien zombies lurking in the corridors.

Then for the soundtrack, I'd use a variety of Darkspace material.

A horror comedy of a Grindcore metal band creating a zombie and releasing it on people so they get inspiration for lyrics. The music would off course be only original music by this band.

Hey, if you want to gather some budget, I'll do it:d Here is already a sentence I came up with:
"Stop skullfucking that corpse Eugene" "Dude, excellent titel!"

If I was anywhere near rich, I sure as hell would fund the production of such a movie. Unfortunately, I'm not.

It's like a twisted version of Bill and Ted, ahaha

I would adapt Cannibal Corpse's song "I Will Kill You" into a full-length movie. The soundtrack would feature CC along with other brutal death metal bands.

An epic fantasy battle movie like lord of the rings with Twilight of the Thunder God by Amon Amarth in the background. That song makes you feel like your charging through a field on a horse and slaying orcs or something.

I've always thought of making a post-apocalyptic movie with music by Godflesh, Electric Wizard, and Sunn-O))) playing in the background.
