Their page has been updated and it says their status is active. I'm guessing this is bullshit but if it's legit, when did this happen?

Well seeing as it was Uncolored who updated the page, I wouldn't take it for 'bullshit' but I don't know, I have heard nothing of this.

This is the last time I heard anything regarding a Beherit return. Just rumors perhaps.

No, it's a coincidence.

Considering the fact that Nuclear Holocausto is now only into electronic music, and has said in interviews that he doesn't like black metal, the only chance we have with a Beherit return is another album like Electric Doom Synthesis.

It is pretty pointless to change the current state of the band, especially in case of a well-known one, without giving some reference on this issue in the additional notes.

Yeah the first thing I did was look in the additional notes but found nothing. Probably not true.

This is from Impiety's singer(from his myspace):

"Yes, Marko came to find me in the backstage calling out my real name. ha! Was interesting to finally meet him after 17 years I've known him. He came with his girlfriend and we talked for long. So great times relived again. Anyways i know Beherit will be back with a new album but more or less synth stuff again, something I will not like at all. But Lord Diabolus is back with a 2 song demo and I've heard it and it sounds like the earlier demos."

It's their original name.
Do you ever go to a band page instead of asking questions you could answer youself?

Well, it doesn't make sense to say that Lord Diabolus has a new demo. When they are far from active.

And I think Beherit is their original name. They just went by Lord Diabolus during the early nineties.

Not "official" information or anything, but during the last few months I've heard from numerous people that Holocausto is into black metal again and is a fan of Satanic Warmaster. Today I even heard rumors that he has already been seen in the studio recording the new album/EP/whatever, but all I can trust at the moment is the word of some people who are a part of the Finnish black metal scene. I'm pretty sure that Beherit is going to release something in the future, though, and most likely it's going to be black metal.

I find it rather weird from going to black metal, to dark ambient, to electronica nonsense and back to black metal if it's rather true. :o

How's so? I see people changing their minds every single day, so when someone does almost 20 years "career", it's not so uncommon that some things change. And Holocausto have always done that electronic stuff, even in early days of Beherit.

I would also welcome new black metal outputs from Beherit, but I'm sure as hell not gonna get any hopes up whatsoever until I hear something official, or at least something with some kind of viable proof behind it that's not just rumours.

It would sure as hell be real neat with some new Drawing Down The Moon style Beherit though, as I'm guessing that they're definitely not going to go down the Oath Of Black Blood road again. Perhaps they would do something completely different, in which case the ultimate question is wether or not it would suck balls, but I'm not going to start speculating on that until I hear anything that would genuinely indicate that a comeback is becoming reality.

That's what I would expect from Beherit. I wouldn't even want them to make Drawing Down the Moon part II, because there's no need for it.

in regards to the whole diabolus / beherit thing, i'm guessing the reason is their reputation during the late 80's and early 90's. From what I hear a lot of people in the black metal scene back then thought Beherit sucked, sort of like how Hellhammer was poorly received back in the early 80's, and just as similarly both bands these days have a very strong following despite the criticism they may have had during the early days when they were actually around.

Like in both cases though, there was still a niche audience for the bands, it's just general appeal from fans was few and far between in comparison.

Cant get more old-school from here. The album is soon ready, it's recorded by Tonmi Lillman.

So now it seems to be official, spread the word!
I've heard some of the pre-mix stuff, good stuff coming! Very simple tracks!"

They used Lord Diabolus name due the fact that they had some issues with Turbo Music and though that it would be wise to use different name than Beherit at that time. There was no bad reputation at that point. The black metal scene was then VERY small and everybody co-worked with each other. It all changed very much a few years later, with a lot of new people entering the scene and adopting the new "rules".

I wish them a good return and I expect from them nothing less than the most interesting finnish black metal release since "Drawing down the moon". Shouldn't be that hard musically, but let's see.
