So, I like Anaal Nathrakh a lot. I think mixing grindcore and black metal should be done more. When I heard one of the members had another band, I was excited because I figured it'd probably be good.

When I listened to Deliverance, I was utterly shocked by the craptitude. Anaal Nathrakh are one of the most extreme abrasive bands I can think of. Deliverance are ...emo. The music itself isn't COMPLETELY terrible. It's a bit derivative, but for emo it's pretty ok. But those vocals...eugh.

That is Anaal Nathrakh if you are unfamiliar with the band.

That is Deliverance

Does anyone else have an opinion on the subject?

Also, why aren't Deliverance in the archives, I'd call this side-project rule. Have they just not been submitted?

Try Mistress, Mistress are awesome. That's the only 'thrakh side project I've bothered trying out so far.

Holy shit... this is terrible... wow, I didn't think those guys were capable of anything this bad.

Yeah mistress are great, I don't know if they are 'side projects' though, becuase they seem like full fledged bands, shame they split up though.

Seems like Mick Kenney enjoys to play other genres of music. My advice is just listen to Nathrakh and avoid Deliverance.

Irrumator (Mick Kenney) was in another, more conventional black metal band called Frost. Not too bad, and most certainly better than Deliverance.

The guitar and drumming is more post-hardcore style while the vocals are almost pop-rock. I totally wasn't expecting that, I will definately be sticking with Anaal Nathrakh

Mick Kenney doesn't get nailed down much.

I mean, Anaal Nathrakh is up there for me as far as favorite bands go. I love their stuff, and really like the direction they're taking things.

Of course, both Kinney and Dave Hunt were both in Mistress, who also kick ass pretty fucking hard.

Outside of that though...

Exploder sucks a fuck. Deliverance does likewise. Professor Fate is pretty interesting and Frost is cool, but none of the others really work out...

Anaal Nathrakh's great though, and if you have the chance to see 'em live, DO SO.

They're looking for musicians to help tour with the release of their debut album. I guess that means we have to wait for said album to be released until they can be submitted. No release, no entry.

Oh yeah, and I too was incredibly disappointed at the crap these guys decided to go with.
