I was wondering what this band's influence on the metal scene was. I come from a hardcore/punk background. The Plasmatics broke all the rules. Am I the only one who loves this band? It isn't death metal OR grindcore BUT they were a huge influence on the metal scene IMO. Even usurping Gwar as far as a stage show. Your thoughts?....

Considering metal existed concurrently with the time of the Plasmatics, bands like Discharge and Repulsion had far more influence on Death Metal and Grindcore imo.

I am also a big fan of this band. Wendy O has the most attitude of any female vocalist anywhere. i have "Beyond the Valley of 1984" and "New Hope for the Wretched", both of which are early ones. the compilation "Anthems for the Apocalypse" is a good sampler also, for anyone who wants to check em out.
