Anything should be better than Skeletons...lol. Seriously though, I'm excited to hear some new material. The last album was excellent IMO and if it's on par with it, I'll be happy.

It makes me a little sad that this album will be coming out seven years after Deth Red Sabaoth. I really like that album and always thought it could've set off some good momentum comparable to the first four that Danzig never really took advantage of. That said, I'll be content if this new album is as good as that one.

Not too excited about this after the last one, to be honest.

Well considering the Skeletons EP was a bunch of shitty cover songs, I would hope original material would be better than that.

I saw him tour for Skeletons. He sounded like total garbage.

DRS is indeed a very good album. Circle of Snakes also has enough quality songs to warrant an occasional listen.

Skeletons is totally fecal. In theory, a Danzig album of old rock & roll covers gets panties dripping all across the globe. However, the songs are so obscure and the performance is so flat that the album very quickly becomes a chore to get through. Given that only 6 months ago Danzig finally acquiesced to some Misfits reunion shows, one can't help but wonder if Danzig is on his last legs as a performer.

I thought he sounded good on DRS and Skeletons, even though the album sucked. However, I thought he always sounded bad live. Really curious about this new one.

im not a follower of his work. but when I hear something new has his own style and is not a complete disappointment

His best works were on Misfits and Samhain.. since that all is new to me and is ok

The first 4 Danzig albums are also genuine classics, IMO.

I'd take Blackacidevil over Skeletons.

Man, that's a lame album cover though I'm trying to think of any good covers he's made that aren't How the Gods Kill. The Lost Tracks maybe? Still curious to see how this turns out.

Looks like May 12th is the actual release date according to his fan page on Facebook. I agree the artwork is terrible. Childish looking IMO. I just hope the music is better.

As long as he doesn't let Tommy Victor play those guitars squeals in a riff that goes through the entire song.

If anything, it's the font that's bad to me. Hopefully it's at least something like DRS.

Never judge a book by its cover, but holy dick is that artwork embarassing.

Hope the actual content will be better and that Skeletons was just a mishap.

Here's the link to the radio show song premier. I haven't watched so I don't know where to fast forward to to hear the song.

Eh, its not there, but some really interesting tidbits, such as a shitload of unreleased stuff.

Almost positive that it's the same lineup as DRS.

I haven't seen anything official, but I pre-ordered this through Amazon and they originally quoted the release/delivery date as 5/12/17. About a week later I got an email changing it to 5/26/17. I'm assuming the release has been pushed back a couple weeks.

Will check this out eventually because Samhain and Danzig were so instrumental in my musical discovery when I was first getting into heavy metal. That song is not very good though, and the cover art is pretty bad.

That new song sucks. I hate Tommy's guitar playing and how every riff he plays has to have some annoying squeal at the end of it. Danzig's voice is completely shot and of course he chooses his vocals to be upfront in the mix. Just terrible.

I think the song is ok and definitely better that anything from Skeletons. Not sure if that's the actual production quality of the song or the way the youtuber captured it. Hopefully something official will get released soon.

Yeah, this is how I feel. Though I almost expecting Ozzy to jump in on that chug with the opening verse of "I Don't Wanna Stop".

The new song

So instead of following Deth Red Sabaoth's pursuit of a tone similar to the first four Danzig albums, he went straight back into I Luciferi. Joy...

I still kinda like this but it definitely is in "dumb rock song" category. Definitely not gonna expect anything amazing with this.

The single has been officially released, so here's the song if anyone is interested. It just sounds like shit. Terrible, terrible shit. That's all I can say about it. It just gets worse each time I've given It a listen. It leaves little hope that the album will be much better. Still it's a step above Skeletons, but not much else.

Grandpa Simpson on vocals. Ok, that's mean but his voice does sound rather different to how I remember it.

Im starting to think that he sings that way on purpose. Ever since 6 & 7 he has been using his classic style and this boring monotone one.

On Skeletons....I must be the only human on the planet but I really liked it besides the vocals on NIB and all those damn guitar squeals every other second.

The new sounds ok, but also like a reject from Circle of Snakes. Not a bad song but it certainly shouldnt have been the first single. I have a big raging boner for Danzig so I might be a little biased.

It's a piece of shit. The drums are too loud and the hell is with the vocals?! It sounds like he recorded it in a pantry with a cheap bendy computer microphone, and went with the first and only take. This is exactly how you don't mix a song.

And to think, I just now heard this, that duet song he did years ago, and his voice sounds amazing. Wish he'd do a "classic" reunion, at least John and Eerie.
